Maybe they are really good fruit trees?
I find it really creepy! And also, you never see it but I bet there were lots of Golden Age people going "End of the world! I see the High King! There's Edmund! And Lucy!" and then they never see Susan and...how is everyone happy? LEWIS WTF.
