Susan is at home everywhere because she is at home nowhere. None of these places are Narnia, and sometimes this is a relief, especially when she forgets the shape of the absence in her heart: is it her siblings? is it Narnia? is it being queen? I love this! Oh, Susan. I keep thinking, well, someday I will get tired of reading about Susan but it has not happened yet. (I had a long talk once with someone about how Susan is the only one of the four who can forget, because the others are too tied up in Narnia. Although possibly book!Peter, I think, might have been able to do it.)
