Are you the one who suggested this prompt?! Is it you?? Man, I'm still trying to find the mysterious person who left this prompt at Porn Battle. What hath she wrought, for serious.
<333 Thank you very much! Yeah, whether Bradley stays or goes back, I feel like it only ends in tragedy. It would be pretty interesting to see how he reconciles with Arthur's future adventures though. I was mentioning to someone how it's almost like Bradley is the old-school Merlin who lives through time backwards and remembers the future. Bradley doesn't know Arthur's past, but he knows the stories about Arthur's future. And maybe that's why Arthur goes out and does some of the crazy things he does, because Bradley knows Arthur has to do them, 'cos that's what the stories say, even though they're bad ideas. Destiny. Which came first, man or myth?
And Arthur, if he's in the modern world, has to deal with the opposite of that. Bradley knows who Arthur is, but Arthur has no clue who Bradley James is. Arthur doesn't have to "live up" to anything. Arthur grew up with people telling him "You're gonna be king one day!", but he will not be king in this world. While Bradley in Camelot struggles with predestination, Arthur in this world struggles with the sudden lack of it.
