LOL OMG. YES. Since season 4, yes. I think spending 40 years in hell had something to do with it. It's weird going back to S1 episodes because Dean is so wee and his voice was, like, a tenor.
Dude, so much of fandom has been saying that S6 has really felt like it's cribbing from fanfic. The SPN writers are totally aware of fandom, but now I gotta wonder if they just troll through LJ looking for fic ideas or whatever. Or maybe it's just that the writers and the fangirls are cut out of the same cloth, and thus would be interested in the same tropes? Either way, one of my friends described SPN perfectly in a nutshell: "This show mistakes fanservice for characterization." And oh Anjali, I love it. XD
