I read American Gods looooong before I started reading critically. I LOVED IT. I haven't reread it. I might love it still, but all media I consume these days seem to be reduced to tropes lately, or maybe I'm just consuming crappy media.

Oh yeah, the Wincest comment. I don't know that side of fandom very well, but I got the impression that there was a portion of people who stopped watching in S4 because the tone of the show had changed? But of course a bunch of Wincesters Wincested on anyway. SHIPPERS NEVER SAY DIE.

One thing I have never understood is how people don't understand that part of the entire point of fiction is to explore things.
YOU'D THINK SO. idk, I already told you that I am less inclined to look through Wincestuous waters for fear of Cas-bashing. I'm surprised SPN fandom is not more compartmentalized for what it is. I really think the great polarizing force was Castiel. You either love him or hate him. Is it the infamous anonmeme encouraging the honing of hate rather than focusing on the effusiveness of love? Why is it so prone to wank? Sometimes I think I need a break from this fandom.

LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT HOW I NEED A BREAK FROM THIS FANDOM. Today I was reading a fic about Anna/girl!Cas. Cool! Then I get to a paragraph expressing the sentiment that Dean would never want Castiel and has never wanted Castiel and he saw her her as this robot and I was like :|. And I was like :(. And it makes me a little :( now thinking of it. ANJ, I HAVE LOOKED INTO THE ABYSS AND IT IS LOOKING BACK AT ME!! Am I as crazy as they are?! Maybe?! YES?!? OH GOD. I DON'T WANT TO WEAR A TINFOIL HAT. D:

...

OMGGGGG HAVE YOU WATCHED THE NEW H50 IT IS THE VERY BEST :DDDDDD
