(I know nothing about Marxism or Marxist history, so this is all probably lies, but have some comment fic anyway)
Whenever Friedrich pays for something, Karl will casually toss off a comment about money being the remnant chains of the bourgeois, and Friedrich nods in agreement, because, well it is. Besides, this is totally preferable to the two hour rants about the inequalities of the capitalist system that Karl delivered the first time that Friedrich payed for their beer, and while the speech had been captivating and quite impressive, especially considering it was extemporaneous, sometimes Friedrich just wants to be able to go out for drinks with a friend.
Of course if that was all he wanted, he wouldn't be friends with Karl, who is completely and utterly unable to let anything go. But Karl, even though Friedrich suspects that he might be a bit unstable, is so passionate when he speaks, about equality, about something for everyone, that Friedrich could no more stay away than a member of the bourgeois could avoid oppressing the lower classes.
Ummmm, yis. That's probably wildly inaccurate, and I didn't even BEGIN to talk about beards (I have... opinions, regarding Colin's facial scruff that I could go on about at length. Mmmmmmm.) I have ideas for ninjas, and for Bradley wandering the world that I hope I'm going to pick up when I'm a little less busy.
