omgomgomg omg dsfklj;sfd My reactions to this are some part academic and some part incredibly emotional. Just reading the first paragraph made me want to cry. Like, reading the Durkheim chunks makes me want to cry. Reading the Pevensies chunks makes me go "hmm, that is so true! ooh, interesting!" Clearly I have weird things going on here. Essentially what I mean to say is, this fic makes me want to reread it and weep. weep copiously. cryiiiing
"Then,” Edmund counters, “how could he confer upon us powers superior to those which we have in our own nature?"
Susan replies, "But we don't have these powers. Not anymore."
... evading the question! or is it? I would like to unpack this, the separation of God-in-you and you-aren't-God. it does come down to the social eventually and how the Pevensies just don't want to be alone :(
But Susan never used to need to transport herself at all, and she is beginning to dislike the act of it. oh susan I will never stop identifying with you <333
“We are for Narnia and Narnia is for us,” YES YES YES
You are never sure of again finding a perception such as you experienced it the first time; for if the thing perceived has not changed, it is you who are no longer the same. AUGH. WAH. *cry*
and I am going to echo the adoration of the line about believing in Narnia, but not believing Narnia. waugh.
That you ended with a Narnia line makes it perfect. It saves it from feeling esoteric (and wow Lass you did a really really really great job of incorporating these quotes. wow. it reads just like natural.)
<33333333333333333333 this love is not "anyway" love, it is "yay!" love! you know this :D
