The funny thing is, the first time I read the Narnia books, when I was very, very young, I liked Peter and Lucy best of the Pevensies. Now that I'm older, it's Susan and Edmund that I favor. I feel as though C.S. Lewis prefers people for whom being Good comes naturally. But I gravitate more towards the people who have to work for it. (Jack Lewis and I disagree on many, many things.)

In any case, it was lovely to see just the two of them interacting with each other. But there were plenty of other things I loved about this fic. THE SUBTLE KNIFE being at the top of that list. I did a little happy dance when you threw that in there. Also, dream!Jadis, and Susan's remark about how our own dreams are so overwhelming. The Latin quote that Ed did not recognize as being from the world he was born in. Susan and Ed experimenting with magic. The way you brought Calormen to life so beautifully.

My one complaint is that now I want Turkish Delight, and it's impossible to find in the States. (The only time I've ever had it was in England, and I bought it purely because of Edmund. All of my friends were like, EW IT'S NASTY and I was like, NOM NOM MORE FOR ME. I guess I'm one of the few people who genuinely love it. Clearly Ed and I are soulmates.)
