Haha, I would like to see these 500 words! I love how descriptions of fics quickly become fics themselves. It's where my commentfic problem comes from, and it reminds me of what Gaiman wrote in that story, that the best way to describe a story is to tell it.
I've stopped becoming very excited about explicit Merlin/Arthur. It's just in my face all the time, and the canon makes it so easy, the challenge has kind of gone out of it. I, too, want to see fics where their top priority isn't each other, where they don't always have each other's backs. Or is that, like, not canon or something. Oh, show. I wanna see the darker side of being destined to be together, maybe some claustrophobia and resignation and a little bit of resentment. Like, is this thing between them really real if it's just destiny? Or something like that. Sometimes I kind of wish that Arthur hadn't changed from the huge jerk of the first few episodes to Very Noble so quickly.
