500 words totally just turned into 1,599 words and I'm not even done, there's still the beginning. Dude, this doesn't happen to me, except when it is 3 am on a school night and it does.
I am really excited about it when it describes how they fall in love. There is no enchantment in "And now I tell you I have magic and now we find out we're gay for each other, hooray." There is no enchantment in sudden-relationship-without-explanation fic. There are too many copout fics out there and not enough where they take this issue and fill it full of UST and give the characters conflict and put in a real plot.
But I agree, more dark-side fics. I would have to ease into them - Merlin is my happy fandom, after all the woe that is HP and Narnia - but they are so right in being about things going wrong.
I still think Arthur is a bit of a Big Jerk, though. He still has the stubborn tendencies and jerkiness toward Morgana and inability/unwillingness to have ~feelings. Or maybe I am remembering wrong? I keep watching the first couple eps and not making it to the last ones.
