Merlin is totally my happy place, as evidenced by how my production of Merlin crack far outweighs my production of real Merlin fic. I didn't even realize how much Merlin was my happy place until I started rewatching the eps and the opening music just made me have FEELINGS. I love how the fandom is just high on the good stuff, but I do have some fics up my sleeve up my sleeve I wanna write when I have free time (AN INCREASINGLY LAUGHABLE CONCEPT): one about Pendragon family dynamics and probably Arthur's king issues, one about Merlin and Will, one about Merlin and Morgana being furtively magical under Uther's rule (one section already written). Maybe a Morgana/Gwen? These badass ladies, I swear. Ironically, I never really wrote a lot of strong female characters until Narnia came along (UP YOUR ASS, LEWIS) and, awesomely, the habit has stuck around. Thanks, Susan and Jadis!
Oh, he's definitely still a jerk, and proud and stubborn. But you know how he was bullying the guy with the target in the first episode? I can't imagine the Arthur of the last few episodes doing that. When I first started watching this show, I wanted to write a fic about philandering!Arthur, but now I don't think that would be IC anymore. I suppose a bevy of magical evil attacking your city would definitely make you grow the hell up, though. So it makes sense. It's just that Arthur has become very... fanon Draco?
