I think Morgana is used to making grander gestures, and you're right, Merlin is just all about making things run smoothly.

I can imagine all these sorcerers breaking into the great hall, raining destruction down, and Merlin just quietly stands between them and Uther and Arther, and stops them. And Arthur goes from, "What are you doing, you idiot," to hiding behind his throne going WTF.
