You already know my feelings on moons being cleft in twain (in case you need a refresher, they run something along the lines of YAY![!!!!!]).

There are so many other YAY things about this story too, despite the fact that it's all dark and o hai apocalypse. Becky, being far less (dare I even say not) annoying. And then our heroes save the day. WITH GAY LOVE. *dies*

And what the hell does Andrew Lloyd Weber know about killing vampires anyway. For some reason, that just brings to mind the absurd little musical theater scene in "Escape from New York." Post-apocalyptic Andrew Lloyd Weber! Jesus Christ Superstar II: The Second Coming.

For all the humor (and there were several moments when I laughed out loud), this was also surprisingly sad. The boys, knowing they don't have forever. Knowing that this is just a stopgap at best, and probably their last stand. Cas's understanding that he's truly alone, that he's been made to worship something that no longer exists, and that he's transferred that adoration to Dean. Sam being all Sam-like and practical and brotherly, and totally not letting Dean get away with quoting musicals while killing vampires.

And now I'm off to read the giant commentfic thread you and [livejournal.com profile] unoshot have going below, because it looks awesome.
