(Man, is fandom slowly migrating to DW and AO3 or what.) dark_agenda is keeping on keeping it on and holding a seven-day drabblefest for the chromatic characters in the qualifying remix fandoms. Here is a growing masterlist of said characters. You don't have to participate in Remix Redux to write a drabble.


2. NOW SHOWING on my Dreamwidth a.k.a. Who let Lass near comment_fic again?

Splinching People, Cursing Things | SPN (Harry Potter fusion). Dean, Cas (Sam, Ash, Jo, Bobby). PG. 980ish words of crackity crack. Because, as lovestories puts it, every fandom needs a Hogwarts AU.

The Body and the Blood | SPN. Sam, God, Dean. PG. 250ish words. The prompt was "Dean is God's vessel".


3. So, just out of hopeful curiosity, would anyone be down to beta a 2100-word Merlin fic in which Arthur and Morgana drive an Aston Martin around the UK, saving people, hunting things? Familying angstily? I would be muuuuuch obliged. :D


ETA: 4. Hey, do you guys remember a few years ago there was an SPN/Boondocks fusion art with Huey!Dean and Riley!Sam, or something? Do any of you have the link to it still? I have tried and tried but my google-fu is failing me. Apparently there is interesting meta going on in the comments about what if the Winchesters were black. I love The Boondocks sfm, and now that I love SPN, I feel the need to revisit and reappreciate this brilliant idea.

I have very, very little fannish experience as a beta, though quite a lot professionally as a (non-fiction) sub-editor and proofreader. If you bear that in mind, I'd certainly be willing to comment and Britpick, if that's any good to you. But if you'd rather find someone with more experience, I completely understand!

fandom is doing a bunch of migrating, which I can deal with. I've been getting my own fic up on AO3 too, just like I do on ff.net, but they're both just secondary back-ups and definitely not primary spots (that would be LJ).

things I really wish: I could write Leverage. I shall perhaps get to work on that someday.

also, lol at my bad habit of only remembering remix a few days before, picking a qualifying fandom and writing some random drabbles in it so that I can pick and choose which fandoms I'll write in more carefully. this year: Torchwooooood. IANTO. TOSH. OWEN. omggggggg, why am I watching this show again? why? I have to skip so many plot holes! and yet it still breaks my heart.

you already have an offer, but if you need a second beta at some point I'd be willing to take a crack at it.

I'm considering just posting all my fic on AO3 and linking to that. I've seen people doing this, and I'm kinda monkey see monkey do about it.

All the Leverage I seem to be able to write is crackfic :( . And I barely watched any episodes of the most recent season, I AM SO BEHIND.

Sign up for remix! The more the many-er!

Some people are totally forsaking LJ. LJ's been doing up a lot of fail in recent months (gender fail, payment fail, I forget what else), and now there are these stupid ads, which apparently give you a virus occasionally. Most people I know who do have DW are kind of between worlds, as I am too. AO3 (archiveofourown.org) is like ffnet but cooler. Something about server ownership? I am not very very well-versed in why all the aforementioned things suck and rule.
