Wyrm turns off the engine, and the stillness that follows is what rouses Lass from sleep. The pile of coats in the backseat stirs, and when Lass's rumpled head peeps out from one end, Wyrm says again, "So, there's a lamppost."

Zee is already out of the car and investigating.

"Did you ever read the Phantom Tollbooth?" Wyrm asks as they approach the thing, Zee crouched beside it. "You know that part where Milo's just driving and driving without really paying any attention, he ends up in the Doldrums?"

And Lass, still half asleep and lighting her first cigarette of the day says, "I love that book."

Zee says, "Guys."

Lass says, "Are you saying you drove us into Narnia?"

Zee says, "Guys, look at this."
