JFC this may be the most adorable thing I have seen all week, and I have spent an inordinate time looking at pictures of puppies and other tiny animals, and also I am not far enough in SPN to actually know this character. Who're you calling scruffy-looking, Becky-the-Apostle? I would totally watch monster-of-the-week X-Files episodes with her, the mytharc gives me a rash. I am not going to quote the whole thing back at you, as I would like to, but seriously: our Father loves him as He loves all His creations, and He never left. He loves us as we love Him and that is enough awwww <33333
Cas totally writes badfic in his head, in which everyone settles down with the Mary Sue of their choice, and Dean's wife gets pregnant and he thinks she is even more beautiful as time passes, and everyone is loved and loving and no one fights and Dean is able to develop some measure of faith in himself, at least. But he always feels vaguely ashamed because he respects the person that Dean is, his desire to help people (anyone but himself) and the struggles he's had; and to just write them away seems wrong. Disrespectful. Easy. It's only natural to want the people you love to end up with people they love and who love them, says Becky. And look at Joss! Joss writes quintessential Mary Sues, what with the gorgeousness and the preternatural intelligence and the having some freaky ability that no one else does. And look how critically-acclaimed his stuff is. Even if no one gets to be happy ever. Buffy's just cookie dough, okay. One day she'll be ready for happiness. Well, she would be, if Joss didn't write comics to stretch out everyone's misery indefinitely. In Becky's head, everyone gets to be happy. And Kaylee/Simon, that was kind of happy! It's a good thing Cas doesn't get her references because she may have lost the thread of what she was saying a little. Look, she says. Art imitates life, right? So if in art people sometimes get to be happy, and fic is sort of loosely like art, well, then. Fantasies made up by the faithless young (and isn't all of humanity in a state of perpetual adolescence?) to avoid of looking at themselves and their Father, thinks Castiel but he doesn't say this to Becky because she'll be hurt, humans are so sensitive to these things. OMG WHAT IS THIS, I AM SORRY ABOUT THIS. WHY I ALWAYS GOTTA DO THIS.
spn_hetexchange! You signing up? I am really considering it, but I dunno. I guess it depends on how much difficulty I have with my femgen prompt/whether I decide to write SPN for that challenge. Why do I always think I am better at deadlines than I am is what I want to know. Hee, Emily Perkins also played one of the lead roles in Ginger Snaps, and her sister was played by Katharine Isabelle, who was S2's Ava. Presumably this is because they are both Canadian actresses but I am attributing it to deeper, more fangirly forces.
