Well, crud, now I miss Anna something awful. I love the contrast between them, how Anna is human-who-happens-to-be-an-angel and Castiel is an angel-who's-slowly-turning-human. Anna's translated her affection for Castiel in such human terms, so of course Castiel would not know how to respond or even understand that.
