Claire Novak has never asked anything of the angel walking around in her father’s body. Not for ten whole years.
The surreal and twisted labyrinth inside Claire Novak's head. Disorientingly lovely.

Next in the series of people being adorable about Misha Collins, we have recurring guest Matt Cohen with "...and everybody's like 'aaaaahhh Miiiiishaaaa!'", and Rob Benedict with "Bring my friend Misha back". Look, we need to sit down and plan fic about how groupie!Misha goes to see Rob's band perform and then there are sexy shenanigans backstage.

For the porntastically inclined, there is a bottom!Jared fanworks commentfest going on. If anyone wants to fill my Jacob Glaser/Sam Winchester prompt, WHY, I WOULD NOT MIND AT ALL, SIR. :D

I also watched John Sayles's Amigo.

NGL, I went into it with the fervent prayer, "PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DON'T MAKE ME ROLL MY EYES AS MUCH AS THE GREAT RAID DID." And it didn't! LOL, I know, such ~high expectations, but ugh, okay, The Great Raid pretty much stayed in American POV the entire time, relegating the Filipinos to the little brown brothers. Amigo delved into the Filipinos' POV as much if not more than the Americans', and it three-dimensionalizes them without over-romanticizing them. Everyone is caught between a rock and a hard place, often having to make uncomfortable compromises, and the film seems more or less aware of that. It's not a typical hero movie, not really, which I appreciate. More than I want characters to ~win, I want them to be human and relatable. I don't want forced victories and spoon-fed valorization, not when that would cheapen their struggle. What is the line between revolution and survival, and when is it okay to cross it? Is it ever okay? The film asks these questions but doesn't answer them, which I also appreciate. That is to say, it left a bad taste in my mouth but in a good way, y'know?

The mayoral election scene made me :DDDDD so hard. Could've done without the "Amerikano falling for the local girl" shtick, though! That was kind of LOL-worthy, but at least she wasn't really swept off her feet? In one scene, she distracted him during sentry duty so a rebel could sneak into the village.

This movie is going to open in select theaters in the USA in August and September, and if you got some time, maybe you can watch it, start some dialogue. Also, I love how the gist of the reviews I've read so far seems to say, "Fuck Transformers 3. Watch this instead!"
