SPN 8x03 HEY IT'S THAT GUY
I DID A DOUBLE TAKE AT THE SHERIFF

I HAVE SEEN THAT GUY BEFORE
COULD IT BE??

IT IS!
IT IS FOR ACTUALFAX ~*~*~*ROGER*~*~*~ aka Jimmy's neighbor BFF who got possessed by a demon and then murdered.
I mean, okay, SPN is no stranger to recasting the same actors for multiple roles. Hester the angel was Mrs. Walsh from A Very Supernatural Christmas. Samandriel the angel was also the kid from Bugs. VESSELS AMIRITE, but then Lucas Barr from 'Dead in the Water' was also in the Amy Pond episode in S7, and Barry the kid from After School Special was also in I don't remember what, but he was in something. IT WORRIES ME THAT I KNOW THIS.
Roger, do you have a twin brother working as a sheriff in where were they, Colorado? what if you do, roger.
I also thought Roger was one of Crowley's henchman in 6x10 but IMDB doesn't say so but idk, what do you guys think

IMDB does say that Roger was in something called Yeti: Curse of the Snow Demon and also Police Academy THE SERIES. ROGER. WATER U DOIN ROGER. OMG. WE KNEW YOU WERE IN STONEHENGE APOCALYPSE BECAUSE EITHER YOU OR MISHA LOST A BET BUT APPARENTLY YOU WERE ALSO IN DEVOUR?
YOUR LIFE AND CHOICES, ROGER.
In other news, Sam's life and choices. He's so self-contained right now, or trying hard to be. It reminds me of but is not like when he was younger and tried to do all the normal people stuff and Dean would probably, idk, laugh and ruffle his hair like he knew Sam better than Sam knew himself. But now years have passed and Sam knows himself. Or at least he knows his limits, or at the very least his history of loss has forced him to know his limits. It's not about Amelia or normalcy, it's about a life of hitting rock-bottom, and thinking he's hit rock-bottom for the last time and that he is finally done. He could finally move on.
Dean might recognize the parts of Sam he can't access, but this time they're no longer the frustrated expressions of adolescence, just the weariness of someone trying to keep what little life has allowed him to keep. They've done this before - "we do this one thing and then I'm out", and now Sam's dealing with Dean pulling them into side cases because Dean wants the world to be as it was. They're both losing ground. No one's wrong or right, and I get Dean for wanting to go back to the life he knew before purgatory fucked him up and losing Cas for the 124381382th time. "Maybe if I can at least do this thing again, it'll be okay," Dean's thinking. But I think that's the point, that's the problem with the life, at least in Sam's experience. It doesn't leave room for anything else. It's always the only thing waiting for you, like a trap. Dean sees it differently, which is a whole 'nother meta, and okay, sure, there are people who find fulfillment in hunting, like Jo, and people for whom hunting is a legacy and not a traumatic reaction, like Campbells, but all things considered, I don't think Sam would see these as positive examples. If hunting is a good thing for other people (Garth, for example), then that is their business, not Sam's. Sam loves his brother, but he wants to get out. He is trying to choose to get out. The jab at Dean in 8x01 about who free will is for is about himself as much as it's about Kevin.
