HANSEL AND GRETEL: WITCH HUNTERS. Where's the fic?
- A fic I need is what happened between killing their first witch and becoming witch hunters whose reputations precede them. How did they become so badass? Did either one of them decide they want to do something else but then realized nothing is so fulfilling as killing witches? Did they argue during that time? DID THEY CRY. did they incest. (they totally incested.) Like, how did the second time they hunted a witch go? Was it soon after they killed the first? When did they realize they could make a living out of this? Who was the one who knew how to harness their success for the currency of fame?
- Am disappointed but unsurprised that Gretel being a witch had like NO EMOTIONAL FALLOUT in the story. DID HER STRANGE POWERS ever manifest themselves accidentally when they were kids? Say something was about to kill Hansel but there was like a ~sudden burst of light~ or like, Hansel was on the verge of dying but Gretel clutched him and cried and miraculously he came back to life? DID THAT EVER HAPPEN? I thought she was going to revive Edward with magic! When that didn't happen, I thought Hansel was going to revive Mina with magic, 'cos I mean he's his mother's kid too, maybe he also has some magic. BUT NO. WHY NOT?? THE NARRATIVE OPPORTUNITY WAS RIGHT THERE! Okay, I knew it wasn't going to be the best movie, 'cos I mean for god's sake it has fight scenes set to heavy metal music, but SERIOUSLY. This is like 'Snow White & the Huntsman' but worse. SO MUCH POTENTIAL.
- The whole 'KILL ALL WITCHES' didn't really sit right with me for the usual reasons, and also it just strikes me as kind of quaint? It's the kind of thing you expect it from your sexist grandpa after a few beers at family reunions, yanno?
- Did Gretel ever tell Hansel she's a witch? I forget that part. WHERE IS THE FALLOUT? Where is Hansel's reaction?? I mean, he was saying to Mina earlier that he can spot a witch from a mile away or some crap -- HE COULDN'T SPOT THAT HIS SISTER IS ONE. Or is it just willful blindness? The little miracles that followed them around and kept them safe, maybe Hansel thought it was just luck instead of Gretel's powers accidentally kicking in. DOES HANSEL STRUGGLE WITH IT NOW? Or he doesn't because Gretel is his ~*SISTER*~ and that trumps everything?! DOES GRETEL STRUGGLE WITH KEEPING IT A SECRET, DOES SHE WANT HANSEL TO KNOW? Does she practice witchery in secret, and one day Hansel stumbles across her conjuring fire with her hands!!
- DO YOU THINK HANSEL AND GRETEL COULD POSSIBLY BE THE ANCESTORS OF ARGENTS, CAMPBELLS, OR WINCHESTERS??
- idk if it was just a crappy theater with crappy 3D glasses or what but the movie was dark as fuck and sometimes it was clearer to watch it sans glasses, dang, what a waste of $$$
