Merlin. And, relatedly, cartoons.

DO YOU MEAN TO TELL ME, WORLD, THAT IN THE WHOLE OF LIVEJOURNAL, I AM THE ONLY ONE WHO HAS 'MERLIN/WILL' AS AN INTEREST?!? D-: WHAT THE VERY FUCK.

I watched MERLIN FINALE instead of finalizing my paper and doing stats because...?

Okay, I think I am all MERLIN/ARTHUR-ED OUT. I don't know, it's like the spark is gone; the BBC has gone out of its way to make sure I don't even have to try anymore, and like. I dunno. MERLIN AND ARTHUR'S TRUE LOVE, IN MY FACE ALL THE TIME. And it's like, "Okay, I get it." It was cute for a while, and cute that Merlin and Arthur's true love have the blessing of their parents, and that dragon, and whatnot. It's cute, but my heart doesn't go PITTERPAT or SQUEEFLAIL anymore. Such pitterpattings are now elicited by ARTHUR/GWEN and MORGANA/GWEN, and UTHER/MORGANA. Where are the awesome fics of these ships??

The following is just liveblogging:
-- "RUN AWAAAAAAAY." MONTY PYTHON FLASHBACKS. AGAIN. ALWAYS HAPPENS WHEN THE KNIGHTS OF THE FAIL TABLE GRACE THE SCREEN.
-- !!!!!!! QUESTING BEAST
-- "One bite and there is no cure." YEAH WHATEVER.
-- omfg Morgana/Gwen touchage make me soooooo happy.
-- Why are Merlin and Arthur suddenly alone? Where are the Knights of the Fail Table?
-- "Can you hear me, sire?"?!??! OH GAIUS. YOU BIG SILLY. *SMUSHES HIM*
-- Dude, I want that book-skimming spell, it would come in handy for... exam times.
-- Shirtless Arthur for the win.
-- HMMM, I WONDER HOW THIS RABBIT'S FOOT IS GOING TO SERVE AS A PLOT DEVICE.
-- SHIRTLESS ARTHUR MAKING SEX NOISES FOR THE WIN OMG. I watched it twice, omg.
-- ARTHUR/GWEN I SHIP IT MIGHTILY. FOR THE LOVE OF ARTHUR/GWEN.
-- I kind of like the candlelight vigil, but also found it a bit silly?
-- Nimueh has like the MOST AWFUL LIPSTICK JOB.
-- Did you really have to make it rain? You're on an island! You're surrounded by water!
-- OMG ARTHUR/GWEN ARTHURRRRRRR/GWENNNNNNNNN. WHEN HE SAYS "GUINEVERE" LIKE THAT I GO LIKE THIS: HADOKP"SKFKDOGKOGKOR
-- DRAGON WITH AN OWN AGENDA IS MY FAVORITE. And the whole Merlin vs. Dragon scene there, AWESOME. Competes with Arthur/Gwen for FAVORITE EPISODE BITS.
-- Uhhh, since when has Gaius told him to do what is right? What about Episode 8?
-- EVERYONE DYING FOR EVERYONE ELSE JESUS CHRIST.
-- Rabbit's foot was not a plot device after all.

Hey, remember Captain Planet and the Planeteers? OH MAN. It is definitely going on my 'fandoms to request if I ever join Yuletide' list, which already includes Johnny Maxwell and The Godfather. I was going through YouTube clips from the show in a fit of nostalgia, and I would like to share with you the most cracktastic findings:
-- In which they SAVE BELFAST. Ya, remember the one where they go to Northern Ireland and get caught in the crossfire between Catholics and Protestants, and attempt to broker reconciliation and also A NUCLEAR BOMB IS INVOLVED??
-- In which they MEET HITLER whilst time-traveling and one look into Hitler's POLLUTED SOUL sends Captain Planet into a TIZZY. (That's just a 15-sec clip; click here for the 5-min.)

OH CHILDHOOD. I still ship Wheeler/Linka.

Okay, enough with cracktastic, let's go to PURE AWESOME. "High Note" is a Chuck Jones cartoon from the 1960s about... music notes. If you have even a cursory knowledge of music theory, check it out as it will BLOW YOUR MIND with adorkable.

The "Susan returns to Aslan's Country" fic of a thousand cuddles and long walks on the beach is at 1000-ish words and will maybe be posted soon. There are also fics to post still for [livejournal.com profile] narniaexchange but we are being A BIT HAPHAZARD AND AWFUL ABOUT IT SORRY. :(

OKAY NAP TIME FOR LASSITER

I do remember Captain Planet! I remember being horrified when someone only a few years younger than me said they had no idea about the show. Even after I sang the theme song. That is what is wrong with young folk. No appreciation of the planet or awesome cartoons ;)
