You. Me. Road.

Due to an unforeseen yet excellent chain of events, I have been listening to a lot of Beatles lately. Here are some awesome Beatle-ish audio files you should check out:

1. "And Your Bird Can Sing" (Take #?)
They must've been on some good stuff during the take because they just cannot stop laughing. IT IS HILARIOUS AND ADORABLE. I found this trawling through my dad's large and random Beatles collection years ago. He has multiple versions of the same songs all over the place. Aside from the laughing and whistling and stuff, you can also hear that the intro's different, for example.

2. DJ Natural, "While My Guitar Gently Weeps"
One of my favorite Beatles covers. It's got a chilled-out triphoppy sound.

3. Loo & Placido's mash-up of The Beatles, Black Eyed Peas, Kelis, and Ludacris
You cannot tell me you are not curious. You would totally dance to this too. They use "Run For Your Life" and "Girl" by The Beatles, "Let's Get Retarded" by Black Eyed Peas, and I don't know which Ludacris or Kelis song they use. Anyway, it's pretty excellent.

4. "Michelle" from Beatles Go Baroque
An orchestral arrangement of "Michelle" in the Baroque style. I WANNA BAROQUE 'N ROLL ALL NIGHT

In conclusion,

D'AAAAAAAAAWWWW. <3

I have the whole book that that photo was published in! It's adorable. There were little anecdotes from the photographer, as well, who traveled with them for a while.

Oooh, which book?

*plots to spend money on Beatles books*

This is the author's website. It looks he only has one Beatles book, so it must be that. My copy seems to be lost somewhere in my room, though! Sadface. OR MAYBE MY SISTER TOOK IT.

ETA: You can actually see a bunch of the pictures from the book on the website. I like the one of them at the beach in the matching terrycloth shirts-- people used to give them matching gifts all the time, and even though it was mostly cheap stuff like plastic swords or toys or clothes, if one person was left out, that person would sulk. OH, BOYS.

Everyone on my flist is squeeing over the Beatles at the same time, and it's kinda weird. I've been obsessed with the Beatles almost my whole life-- when I was a kid, my parents played them in the car, and then when I first started buying CDs for myself, they were all I listened to. (I never went through that Spice Girls phase.) When I was 9 or so, my best friend and I used to watch Help and Hard Day's Night all the time. We even went to her little sister's birthday dressed in black turtlenecks and black pants, once. And I remember one of my favorite birthday presents, probably when I was 10 or 11, was that giant silver Beatles Anthology book. I read almost the whole thing, but I think the reason I really loved it was because it was obviously something my dad had thought of and bought for me, and those presents are always special, because he usually just lets my mom sign his name to things.

Haha! LJ hive miiiiind. I like them but I wouldn't consider myself a rabid fan by any means. Also, there's still something (many things?) about the Yellow Submarine movie that creeps me out.

I totally went through a Spice Girls phase, shut it. XD

this is what skandar and i think of the spice girls:
