I DUNNO, HAVE I TOLD YOU HOW MUCH I LOVE YOU? <3333
She does finally get a few more hours of sleep, curling up around Ben, fingers just lightly touching his shoulder so she'll know when he wakes. When she wakes up, blinking in the dim light, Ben is still sleeping. He finally stirs around 11. She's checking her phone, three texts received almost simultaneously from friends in the class she just missed, demanding to know where she is and if she's okay.
"Did I say thank-you last night?" Ben says, and she smiles down at him, flipping her phone shut. She can reassure them of her safety when she runs to get food in a few minutes.
"Inbetween some rather disturbing rambles, yes," she says. "What do you want for breakfast?"
"You don't have to stay," he says.
"You said that last time too," Claire says quietly, sitting down beside him. "I'm not going to leave you in this condition." He stretches one half of his body and then leans his forehead against her knee.
"I know," he says. "I just want you to know that you could. If you wanted to, or needed to." He's silent for a few more minutes, and then says, "How's your thesis coming?" She laughs.
"I can't even remember why I liked this subject any more," she says ruefully, and he smiles against her skin.
"You do remember liking yogurt, right?" he says. "Because that's what we're having for breakfast. At least that's what's in the fridge."
"I have a car," she says. "And I'm not hopped up on pain medication."
"No point in going anywhere if you don't have to," Ben says.
