the one where i watch a buttload of TV

So, I watched that Batman AU, Under the Red Hood. I don't know Batlore at all, so my thoughts are coming from someone whose reactions mostly consisted of OMFG DEAN D:.

-- It was enjoyable in my mind to watch this like it's a S4 AU where Dean comes back from the dead, but ~came back wrong~ and then he takes revenge on the Joker Alastair. Z and I spent most of the watch either going D: or going OMG HE TOTALLY JUST SOUNDED LIKE DEAN THAT IS SOMETHING DEAN WOULD TOTALLY SAY OMG THAT WAS DEAN'S ANGST FOR A MINUTE THERE *_______* <33333 deeeaaaaaan

-- Alastair and the Joker would make such amazing BFFs, guys, omg. Singing "Cheek to Cheek" as they eviscerate victims, sassing each other unto eternity. <3333 sociopathic lifemates

-- I'M NOT USED TO SEEING THIS MUCH VIOLENCE IN CARTOONS. Have cartoons always been as violent? Am I just old and naive now? I mean, the crowbar D: and blood splatters and those three guys, and then they were DEAD, and and getting your head crushed by your own robot suit annnnnd! D:

-- That scene on the rooftop with Red Hood and Batman being gay for each other? And Jason takes off his mask? Ahaha. UNDER THIS MASK! IS ANOTHER MASK! lololololol

IN CONCLUSION: JOKER/ALASTAIR OTP

And then there was Rizzoli & Isles! I don't usually do procedural shows, but I was curious about this one because 1) it's set in Boston and I have a hard-on for Massachusetts, and 2) both the leads are women. It's like Bones if Angel was a girl. It's eh-okay so far. Needs moar Rizzoli/Isles subtext.

Speaking of shows set in Boston, I barely watch Leverage anymore, but JO HARVELLE WAS IN AN EPISODE so of course I had to watch that one and country singer Jo *________* SHE HAS SUCH A NICE VOICE. AS DOES CHRIS KANE. I feel like I'm missing out on some CWRPF joke/plot bunnies on account of how Chris Kane is actualfax in a band and JAckles sings country. Or something. Everything about Eliot being a country star was just winnnn win win. Isn't this the second time they've had to pull a deus ex Eliot? He had to be a baseball celebrity too.

The Bjork!Parker thing was UGH SO EXECRABLE, though. >:(

And thennnnn I watched

-- wtf Romeo did no one racefail-beta this shit uuuggggghhhhhhh

-- I barely recognized Greenly! And then it was like that moment from Hook -- "THERE you are, Greenly!" Man, he's gotten old. And fugs. But still adorably dumb! And then dead. :(

-- You know who else has gotten old and fugs? Connor! I had to check IMDB to make sure that was Sean Patrick Flanery, goddamn.

-- NORMAN REEDUS, ON THE OTHER HAND, REMAINS AS SEXY AS EVER.

-- I appreciate the callbacks! The cat. "Symbolism". Listening to crazy music while you figure out the crime scene.

-- If this whole movie had just been impressionistic reenactments of shoot-'em-outs, I would've been okay with that.

-- What the even fuck was that fucking stupid-ass dream. (I like that they dream in tandem tho.)

-- I'm glad Smecker isn't dead.

-- NOT ENOUGH BROCESTUAL SUBTEXT. Perhaps I will have to create some via fic.

-- I don't know how I feel about the implication of a third movie.

IN CONCLUSION: I'm just gonna reread paronymous/sepulchral again and be nostalgic for the old days.

I'm only watching a lot of shit because life has been rather :( lately. Tell me a joke, flist. Explain to me why Castiel crossed the road and why Sam is like a writing desk. Tell me about the plot bunnies that the S6 spoilers are giving you.

It's pretty much straight up Dean it hurts, okay. Like, the AU where the CPS come for the kids and Dean wriggles out and tries to get back to his family and gets as far as Gotham when he figures stealing the tires off of the Batmobile seems like a brilliant plan.

I need to catch up on Rizzoli/Isles, if only because the blatant but casual invasion of each others personal space never fails to be ridiculously hot.

UNDER THIS MASK! IS ANOTHER MASK!

Hahaha, this got so much talking and LOLing about when it happened in the comics. Oh, Jason.

SREOIUSLY. SERIOUSLY. Imagining Dean saying Red Hood's lines is killing meeeeeee. And I keep wondering who the Batman is. Batsam? Batjohn? Batcas?

And the fact that he's calling him Dean at ALL, no one's called him Dean since Dad left
;______; Is Sam also secretly a superhero somewhere and are he and Jason gonna meet?

I LIKE THAT THEY SHARE CAT FOOD TOGETHER. <3333333

Alona Tal has a very nice voice! I wondered a bit whether that was really her voice. It was really her, then?

Dean should have strummed the guitar with Jo singing the night before she died *nods*

[identity profile] twoskeletons.livejournal.com 2010-07-27 09:11 am (UTC)(link)
Apparently in interviews it was confirmed that yeah that's really her and Chris singing. Color me enthralled!

Jo should've sung them all a sweet song that night so everyone can cuddle and cry cathartically. ;_______;

Castiel did not cross the road, the road crossed him.

Sam is like a writing desk because he has an inky hole in his heart ever since he moved from the Victorian Mansion he and his family call home. And it may not look like it, but he was built specifically for that house so his leaving leaves a desk!Sam shaped hole in their life. Also, he has a *super sekrit* hidden drawer where he hides all the stuff he can't tell his brother. As the visions get worse, the drawer is starting to overflow and someday soon it's going to burst open.

Meanwhile, Dean is a fountain pen, who actually performs the task they're set out to do. The two of them are a perfect team because either one is useless without the other, but Sam feels a bit put upon in this relationship. John, I guess, is the writer who directs how they operate, both by training them as kids, and leaving his notebook behind for them. So now they can hunt down the ravenous plot bunnies that have come for their souls and trap them on paper by themselves.

Clearly I've overthought your question.

LOL! My review word for word.

I am skipping the BDSII review as I still have not watched it. :(

I am sorry life has been ploopy for you. That's no good! Things to cheer you up? I can't really tell jokes, so I'll squee over things instead!

The Merlin trailer has basically made me 100% Team Evil Hot Sisters. I mean, how can you compete with this:

teamevil.gif

Seeing it made me go:
SuperTroopers.gif
(The dancing, not the leaving, obvi)

And then I saw the trailer for Sucker Punch which if it ends up being half as awesome as it looks, will still be pretty damn awesome.

Then I watched the trailer for The Town, which might be relevant to your interests, being set in Boston and all. SPEAKING OF BOSTON, have you ever gone to the Mapparium" at the Christian Science Museum? It is pretty cool. They should build them in every city and make schoolchildren go every year.

what the, that last comment was supposed to have a GIF of Dean saying AWESOME.

So.

AWESOME \o/

YES. Sam looks neat from the outside, but that's only because he's crammed his messes into his drawers. He's locked some of them, and some of them are jammed because they're too full. You get them open and it's an impossible mess of documents and pens and transcriptions. The only person who's ever been able to find anything in there is Dean.

Overthinking is how we roll around these parts, so that's totally okay. :)

[identity profile] twoskeletons.livejournal.com 2010-07-27 05:42 pm (UTC)(link)
They are adorable, they really are. I love her tortoise who eats British strawberries. I love that they have slumber parties and gossip. I am ready for more meaty stories and character development now, show! Also, I am weirdly feeling like the producers of this show have digested the various failwanks that have happened on LJ and are consciously making this to cater to us.

[identity profile] twoskeletons.livejournal.com 2010-07-27 05:54 pm (UTC)(link)
YES I HAVE SEEN THE TRAILER AND YOU KNOW WHAT? Morgana haters to the left, I AM EXCITED TO SEE MORGANA PLAYING FOR EVIL. omg the Uther/Morgana/Arthur dramarama it's gonna cause, and Morgana's conflicting feelings, but she has to do what's RIGHT, don't let feelings stop you from doing what's RIGHT, but augh, once upon a time when she was a child Uther let her sleep in his bed when she had nightmares, and sometimes Arthur can still smile that impish smile and tease her gently and it makes Morgana's heart go weak at the knees, but NO NO DO NOT SUCCUMB. ALSO MORGANA DOING POWERFUL MAGICS, YES.

MORGAUSE SHOVING MORGANA AGAINST A WALL AND ANGRILY LASHING OUT, "I AM YOUR FAMILY NOW."

Or maybe they're totally sexytime BFFs now, WHO KNOWS. There are several possibilities and I am ready to love each one. Except the shitty ones. XD

I don't know if I've ever been to the Mapparium or if I've just squealed about wanting to go. It is definitely up my alley.

[identity profile] lizzie-marie-23.livejournal.com 2010-07-27 07:27 pm (UTC)(link)
YES! The drawers that are jammed! So if even Sam wants to look at some of his old issues and air them out, he can't do it. He needs someone else, like Dean or maybe Jess, to force it open and make him talk. And in his own mind, he might even think he's okay and this is how he's supposed to be, but it's not true and Dean knows that. Once, when Dean was really little, he hid under the writing desk for a whole hour and scratched his initials on the underside of it. So it doesn't matter that the fancy gold plaque at the front says Samuel J. Winchester: we all know who he really belongs to.

I WOULD LOVE TO SEE MORGAUSE SHOVING MORGANA AGAINST A WALL. SHOVING HER ANYWHERE, REALLY. "You were there for years and all they did was lie to you. About your powers, about your birthright, about me. I will never lie to you. No matter how bad it gets, no matter how much the truth hurts." If Morgause knew what Stockholm Syndrome was, she'd diagnose Morgana with it.

And OH MAN Arthur's face when he sees her, like, "I never knew what you meant to me until you were gone. And now that you're back, I couldn't bear to lose you again." And Morgana has to keep telling herself that even though Arthur looks to be a better king than Uther, he's still a Pendragon, and the risk is too great to take, brothers be damned.

[identity profile] twoskeletons.livejournal.com 2010-07-27 09:29 pm (UTC)(link)
And that's the THING, no? Morgause expects that now that they are sisters together again, everything will fall into place. They will be united against Camelot. But how can they be united when Morgana herself is divided?

Or maybe we see some Morgause manipulating Morgana then. I would be sadder about this, but I would love it if it's well-played and Morgause is only doing it because she loves Morgana to a heartbreaking degree. Has Morgause always dreamed of Morgana maybe? Has always loved her? Oh godddd what if Morgause has always loved her all this time, omg <333

[identity profile] twoskeletons.livejournal.com 2010-07-27 09:31 pm (UTC)(link)

Also I think this counts as knifeplay. XD

[identity profile] lizzie-marie-23.livejournal.com 2010-07-27 10:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Honestly? I scare myself looking back at that idea. But that really is their relationship because they're just so much a part of each other. (what is Sam's middle name, btw? I just made that up)

Oh my god, you're right. But it's so true and awesome so I refuse to apologize for what I do to my boys.

And when Sam uses Dean the fountain pen to write angry letters to John he gets blue ink all over his fingers. He knows this means Dean doesn't approve, but he still treasures the piece of himself that Dean has left behind.
ext_22293: (Default)

[identity profile] anjali-organna.livejournal.com 2010-07-27 10:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Yup. Morgause I think sees things much more in black and white that Morgana ever did, or does, and I don't think could ever understand why Morgana could even be a little conflicted. For Morgause, its "They lied and suppressed your magic and are persecuting other people like us, what more do you need?" Whereas Morgana grew up with these people, and loves, or at least loved them.

Wait wait, I can't remember, did Morgause ever say that she has always known about Morgana? Cause if she did... Imagine all the schemes wee!Morgause hatched, just waiting for the day when she could sweep in and avenge people and rescue her sister from the clutches of Evil Uther. What if she started watching Morgana, and is shocked to find out that Morgana does/did feel genuine affection for Uther? How would Morgause explain/rationalize that to herself??

[identity profile] twoskeletons.livejournal.com 2010-07-27 10:21 pm (UTC)(link)
OMG MORGAUSE PINING FOR MORGANA *________* i love it

Remember when she strode into Morgana's room like she owned the place, and then there was crazy chemistry? It certainly implies that Morgause has known of her for a while. I want fic for all your questions. I want Mordred there too, Mordred and Morgause tangling Morgana up even more. But I guess spoilers say he won't show up this series? Boo hiss! Things are simpler when you're angry and wronged, but Morgana is that plus more, omfg the ties that bind her.
ext_22293: (Default)

[identity profile] anjali-organna.livejournal.com 2010-07-27 10:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Uh, HOW COULD I FORGET THAT MOMENT?? SO amazing, jeez. And yeah, Mordred! Boo to this being a tv show that is dependent on actors and their stupid schedules! Morgana would have all these crazy inappropriate mothering inclinations, inappropriate because obviously Mordred has a huge crush on her and she has no idea, and Morgause is all, "Whatever binds you closer to me is fine," but OH MAN you cannot just erase 15 years of history in a heartbeat, no matter what's going on in the present. The laugh of your foster father, the way your foster brother sets his shoulders when confronted with a challenge, the tenderness of your handmaiden after a nightmare. All of these things run deep in your blood and are written across your eyelids when you try to sleep at night, and you can't just walk away from it all.

[identity profile] animus-wyrmis.livejournal.com 2010-07-27 10:48 pm (UTC)(link)
That is how I feel about Rizzoli and Isles, basically. I really want to like it and I really want it to be good, so I keep giving it more chances. :/

cute animals always cheer me up. (http://cuteoverload.com/2010/07/01/lets-play-box-paper-maru/)

OH HEY ALSO I JUST SAW THE S3 GHOSTFACERS EP. OMFG. WHAT. THE POWER OF GAY LOVE DEFEATED AN EVIL SPIRIT WHAT. is it bad that I would totally, totally watch their show?

[identity profile] twoskeletons.livejournal.com 2010-07-27 11:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, Rizzoli and Isles is kind of mediocre, but I feel same as you. I am waiting for the other shoe to drop.

lol how is that cat comfortable in position even? XD <333

NOW YOU CAN WATCH THEIR WEBISODES :DDDDDDD I LOVE GHOSTFACERS FOREVER. The Winchesters and the Ghostfacers are not so different XD. I too would love a whole show about them omg.

[identity profile] animus-wyrmis.livejournal.com 2010-07-27 11:04 pm (UTC)(link)
boxes are always comfortable!

OMFG ::goes off to find:: yeah, yeah, and there could be all sorts of crazy subplots, like a romance with a ghost and omfg the cameraman, I love him.

[identity profile] twoskeletons.livejournal.com 2010-07-27 11:15 pm (UTC)(link)
MAYBE CORBETT COMES BACK AND HAUNTS ED, BUT IN A NICE WAY, like sometimes Maggie finds Ed talking to himself and thinks maybe he's finally snapped. Maybe Corbett can become the team ghost and help them out of sticky situations with his ghostly powers!!
