The author says it's his first foray into SPN fanfic and OH GOD CAN WE KEEP HIM? This fic has one of my favorite explications of their mindsets at the tail-end of season 5, devastating and ringing true. Also it has this line: "The house is full of your peculiar silence -- the two of you, who wait on either end of eternity, you a ticking clock, he the stillness between the seconds." Speaking of Dean/Castiel, my thoughts on

First of all, what does Rachel want with Danny's Santa suit anyway? Ahaha

Second of all, but first of all in my heart, this is a perfect mirror episode to 1x08 (known forever in my head as "Danny's Dead Partner" a.k.a. MY FAVORITE EPISODE). 1x08 had Danny freaking out over a very personal case and Steve was the one who had his back and tried to keep him calm, was the voice of reason when Danny was doing something brash. In 1x12, the other way around. I keep flashing back to the part in 1x08 where Danny and Steve were driving around with that guy on the hood of the car, and Steve says something like, "All I'm saying is that the next time I do something crazy, I get a free pass." Well, here it is. Not to say that Steve hasn't done crazy things in the intervening episodes, but what I'm saying is that they ~~are fucking~~ ~~ARE IN LOOOOVE~~ have a profound bond. They know when to intimidate bad guys together, but they also know when to say, "Hey partner, I would like you to consider the possibility that you're being craycray."

But more than a Danny/Steve episode, this was a team episode. EVERYONE ALL UP IN EACH OTHER'S BUSINESS. I'm flashing back to Danny and Chin drinking beers in the bar and promising each other they're in each other's corners. I want Chin&Kono fics about them being COUSINS IN CONCLUSION COUSINS and LOLing at Steve and Danny, and being protective of each other, and flashing back to growing up together, and she idolizes him but he doesn't know why, he doesn't think he deserves that. Kono tried to be nice to his fiancee, she really did. And during surfing competitions, she would look for Chin's face in the crowd.

I need a Chin-centric episode about his sordid past. If they find the money missing, then okay, Steve might go to jail... BUT WON'T CHIN ALSO GO TO JAIL? That's also evidence against him, no? I GUESS we can excuse Danny and Steve their tunnel vision FOR NOW, on account of their boyfriendhood.

Steve: I’ll drive.

Steve: I like to drive.
Danny: No, no, no, Rain Man likes to drive - you have control issues.

O RLY. TELL ME MOAR.

Oh, and. I'm glad for Scott Caan and all, but why is he being nominated for Best Supporting Actor? He is a lead. >:(
