Ocean's 11 fic rec

I am Jack's fic rec.

See, there's this writer called Dorinda and she wrote an Ocean's 11 fic called Confidence Men. Now if you're like me, you'd be squeaking, "Ocean's Eleven!" and be clicking that link like woah. But if you're not, hey, no worries, nobody's perfect.

The fic has a great voice, first of all. It's one of the first things I noticed. The tone of the fic fits and is as fun to read as the movie is fun to watch. It's also got great dialogue. I'm a sucker for great dialogue, because great dialogue implies great characterisation. And then and then, there's the Danny/Rusty bit. It's... I don't know. It flows. It works. The part from the failed drug scam to the motel room but before the clothes come off is how I want to write slash. There are tense and serious moments in this fic that are not angsty, and that rocks. Unangsty serious moments are highly underrated.

I wonder why I didn't take a closer look at this Yuletide thing out before. Obscure fandoms up the wazoo. I'm home. Kind of. For the record, this is also home: [livejournal.com profile] everyoneisgay.

Carry on.

Edit: Oh, dear god, Tintin/Captain Haddock. I ventured a peek, braved a foray, and I couldn't do it. Too much. Too much.

Hmmm, I remember it was one where they just sort of had sex because Danny wanted and Rusty gave and didn't hold him accountable for anything.

I think it may have been morning after.

Yeah. My mama's always told me it was nice to share. I also didn't want to be the only one to suffer.
