Alanis stylin'!

Dear [livejournal.com profile] vengari,
You spoil me. If I do not watch out, I will have XD affixed to my face for the rest of the summer. Another Summerbreeze sketch, ya'll. NOT WORK SAFE. XDXDXD

Dear Ang Lee,
We have taken matters into our own hands. Also, please to stop being stupid poopie-head.

Dear writers on the friendslist,
What are you waiting for?! The link is right up there! Post something, dammit! Come on, wranglers! Let's get wrangling! Hehehe.

Dear Colin Farrell,
Please to stop having the scary hair in movie. ...Oh, wait, okay, he cuts it in HEW, that's okay then.

Dear Fadzli Hussen,
Bitch, if I had been there, you wouldn't have stood a chance. Why do these things never happen where I am?!

Dear God,
Are you there? It's me, Lassiter. WHY? As I've told [livejournal.com profile] surichan, I don't know whether to pet him and "awwww" or run away and "aaaaargh."

Dear Vengari again,
XD

Ahead of your time, you are. We will soon catch up, yes we will. We MUST. Or Ang Lee must. Whichever way.

OMG.
I snagged a copy of Brokeback Mountain recently and it just broke my heart. So sad.
How will I be able to cope when the film comes out? Assuming the film follows canon?
Not sure I can bring myself to join [livejournal.com profile] wranglers 'cos will just get weepy at revisionist attempts to write AU happy endings.
*sob*

"omg omg hi bookstore hello do you have that book that's like called jake and heath have sex?"

[identity profile] twoskeletons.livejournal.com 2004-07-30 03:09 pm (UTC)(link)
I WANT BOOK. I WANT BOOK ALSO.
Because, uh, I have not read it.
...Don't give me that look. :(

I unearthed it at a secondhand book stall. I was just riffling through the merchandise when I saw IT. I nearly died on the spot. I nearly gave the friend I was with a heart attack by squealing loudly, snatching up said book and clutching it to bosom. Eventually paid bemused stall-keeper for it when had calmed down.
Read it that night - it's v.short. But oh so good.
I'm not an Annie E. Proulx fan - I began reading 'The Shipping News' once but gave up. 'S just not my bag, man...
But this?
Wow. Sigh. Sob. Sob some more. Argh.
And remember that story you came across a while back about the script for the film involving the sex scene? (And I was all like "Hmm, wishful thinking I reckon")?
Well lookee here: that is exactly how their relationship starts in the book. There's no looking at each other longingly across the corral or anything. They're just sleeping out on the mountain, quite drunk, Ennis winds up sharing Jack's bedroll, Jack puts Ennis' hand on his cock and then next thing, Ennis is unzipping his jeans, hauling Jack up on all fours and lubricating with 'spittle'.........
I don't care what Ang Lee said about it being just an old-fashioned romance etc. etc. If he doesn't have hot hot sex scenes like this, he is Disrespecting Canon, damnit!

ANG LEE MAKES ME CRY

...THE LOCAL BOOKSTORES' STOCK INVENTORY MAKES ME CRY ALSO

[identity profile] juniper-nyne.livejournal.com 2004-07-30 03:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Hmmm. Did quick Amazon check to see if that might be of any use to you but nope. Out of print. (Plus the reader reviews were incredibly stupid.)
As book is so short, am tempted to suggest that if you really want to read it, you could have someone who owns a copy *cough* photocopy it and mail it......Which is yeah, like, probably illegal but hey.....

[identity profile] twoskeletons.livejournal.com 2004-07-30 04:16 pm (UTC)(link)
XD
I guess I could. But I'll be in the US in two weeks and a half, and I'm guessing bookstores in Boston are better stocked than bookstores in Manila. I'm gonna be a tough girlie and stick it out a bit longer. ;)
*Eskimo kisses*

[identity profile] juniper-nyne.livejournal.com 2004-07-30 04:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Cool.
Hey - plus as it gets closer to the release of the movie, I'm quite sure there'll be a new print run (if your US trip doesn't turn it up).

[identity profile] twoskeletons.livejournal.com 2004-07-30 04:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Speaking of new print runs, Tom Hanks is turning Larry McMurtry's Boone's Lick into a movie and d'you know how much that book (hardcover version) is going for around here? Less than US$2. It's about buying in early, folks.
