My inner child wears a pocket protector.

Back in my day, we had no tags! We had to use 'Memories'!
So I've changed my layout to accommodate for tags. Have begun the lengthy process of tagging my entries, but am nowhere close to done. Because I enjoy organizing (but not cleaning or tidying up, for some reason), I like watching my tag cloud grow as I do so.

Okay, kids:

YOU READ THEM. YOU TOTALLY READ THEM, ADMIT IT.

The bookstore was having a sale and they had a shitload of Animorphs books for the equivalent of US$1 each. How could I resist? Now I have like 9, which is good because I forget how they only take an hour to read. And they're dark too. The darkness of the series has always been a factor of attraction, but I'm rereading and am pleasantly surprised to rediscover cannibalism, junior high kids who rejoice in killing (just Rachel, actually), gory details of slaughter, and contemplations on the impersonal cruelty of nature. And the spoilers on the Wikipedia entry tell of more! I want. I want all 50-whatever volumes! I can't believe the series went into 50-whatever volumes. I gave up in the early 30s.

And also relying on payphones and using chatrooms that have a character limit BAHAHAHAHAHAHAilovethenineties.

Apparently quite a number of them were ghostwritten, which -- I guess -- doesn't surprise me, and doesn't really bother me either.

I love re-watching movies and re-reading books that I did when I was younger. I was pleasantly surprised to rediscover how chock-full of issues it is. How they got rid of David was pretty cold, gruesome Taxxon death, dismemberment everywhere, acceptance and details of physical pain, and the extent to which these tweens put up with combat and death. MAN.

And did I mention the sound effects? And also the nineties references? Marco recommends Ax watch 'Party of Five' instead of 'The Young & the Restless' and I lost my shit.

You know, after you posted about this, I saw a stack at a stoop sale. I probably wouldn't have bought them if you hadn't taken me on the trip down memory lane.
