Lassiter <3 Dickon

Frances Hodgson Burnett's The Secret Garden I has it! (Along with Kahlil Gibran's The Prophet, Orwell's 1984 [I've never read it, don't judge me], Jhumpa Lahiri's The Namesake, and a shitload of Bollywood movies. Thanks, RL friend!) I have been craving reading The Secret Garden again after I read some Colin/Mary/Dickon fic because I am JUST THAT PREDICTABLE. My friend asked me in turn to borrow some of my books, whichever books I think are worth reading, and I am excited to compile such a list because it's just like making a mix CD! But out of books! AWESOME.

"Uninvited" by Lizzen. Narnia RPF, PG, Will/Anna. I don't do Narnia RPF, but HOW THE HELL DO YOU RESIST THIS FIRST LINE: "Anna is not invited to the premiere of The Last Battle in London." I XDed so harharharharhard.

"Our Battle Cry Shall Be: 'At Least Our Leaders Mean Well'" by paperclipbitch. Narnia movieverse, PG13, Caspian/Peter. It's a long piece that you can wrap yourself in. Her Caspian characterization is a bit mopey (Hamlet references included!), but her writing is lovely and pulls you in. It's about meeting your childhood heroes only to find that they kind of resent you for existing. (Peter/Narnia OTP!) And her Susan is wonderful.
“It’s yours,” Peter tells him firmly, though there’s a wistful edge to his voice that they’ll both pretend doesn’t exist.

Also: "A prince must imitate the fox and the lion, for the lion cannot protect himself from traps, and the fox cannot defend himself from wolves. Those that wish to be only lions do not understand this." Way to fall into my lap while googling quotes for titles! Thanks, Machiavelli! I take this as your unwavering support for my writing more about Edmund and his nameless coalition. Cheers all around!

It is an excellent idea that I will make a post dedicated to the awesomeness that was 'Jem and the Holograms'. - Y/Y

Truly outrageous!
