celebratory vent of relief
There I was with 4800 words of fic when suddenly a saving malfunction changed my fic into 96 pages of those little boxes, you know which I mean. Ctrl+Z didn't work. Closing and reopening the document didn't work. Doing both of these several times with increasing desperation didn't work either, weirdly enough, and I was like

But apparently the reason I couldn't find my saved file was because it is now called ~WRL1074.tmp?? I mean, all 4800 words are still there hooray thank fuck, but I only found it 'cos I was clicking on every hidden file in my fic folder going OH PLEASE OH PLEASE OH PLEASE.
Well, that's taken care off. Onto more pleasant things!
HEY MERLARNIANS, remember that awesome drawing I recced of Edmund and Merlin being lovable? Weellllll, me and
moment_of_sen got to commentficcing Edmund/Morgana, AS ONE DOES, and now there is corresponding art. IT'S LIKE 2008 ALL OVER AGAIN!! \o/ but EVEN BETTER because now CAN HAZ ART \o/ \o/ \o/ wheeeeee
angelqueen04 is hosting a Merlin Fic Battle. Even if you don't write anything you can still contribute oodles of prompts, as I did. Personally I hope someone writes this prompt: Merlin/The Office, Uther & Michael Scott: comparing notes. Perhaps one of you?!
The only storyline I've really enjoyed this season is Claire's. I weirdly really like Claire! I don't remember liking her this much in the other seasons, but she's just so on top of things now and down-to-earth and has low bullshit tolerance. The cheerleader from Odessa has come so farrrrr. I WAS REALLY ROOTING FOR CLAIRE/GRETCHEN and am disappointed that Gretchen left :(. I wanted to see Claire deal angstily with issues of confused attachment, but no. GRETCHEN WE HARDLY KNEW YE.
Another reason I love Claire: father&daughter tag team of awesome! I LOVE IT. I love it. It makes me miss my dad T_T. I love how Noah got all XD when Claire said, "Did you really think I would trust you over my father?" I love how they joke around and encourage each other and want to give of themselves, and I also love that they are PARTNERS and work well together, it's like during the summer when my dad would pick me up from my internship and we'd talk shop on the way home. Waaaaahhhh daddyyyyyyyyy, basically, is my reaction.
GLAD TO SEE THE PETRELLI BROTHERS ARE BACK IN ACTION. The show missed their chemistry, it really did. Keep it up, boys! I can only take so much of Sylar being relentlessly evil. Get a stress ball, dude!
In conclusion: YAY FAMILY
Also, I have a fic to post and it's not Merlin OR Narnia. Bizarre!
(did you believe it when i said i was going to be scarce around LJ these days? me neither.)

I'm all about sharing the arty bribes, oh yes, good times. You know what would inspire more? *nudge nudge wink wink say no moar!*
Oh Heroes, how I don't really miss you since I stopped watching after it went weird in season 2.
But I agree: YAY FAMILY specifically Pevensies XD

I am def not abandoning this commentficcery, def not! omg I haven't commentficced Merlarnia in so looooong.
I'm still kind of surprised I'm watching 'Heroes' tbh. It's more a habit now?
Narnia may or may not have contributed to my love for stories about tragic powerful families. (HINT: MAY.) XD

I'm enjoying finally finding someone who likes it too! It makes me happy ^_^ It makes me look forward to getting home from work so I can check if there's anything new.
LOL yeah. I quit watching Lost bout the same time as I quit Heroes, which I think is just as well, but I'm never giving up Supernatural, no matter how silly it gets.
Supernatural is case in point for love of tragic families! And yes, yes yes yes for Narnia, I loved Ed and Pete's relationship in the film, Ed's "Keep smiling," and Peter being all, "I never really appreciated you eno-OOWWW!" as his shoulder is wrenched back into place by Ed, heee! I cannot WAIT a WHOLE YEAR til Dawn Treader comes out to see how they go with Ed's character without Pete around to shape him. It seems like forEVER awaaaaay! But then again, ROTK seemed an eternal two years once I fell in love with FOTR, and now that's in the past and I miss the glory of the anticipation.
Not really. I want Dawn Treader NOW.

I've only ever watched one episode of Supernatural and my friend keeps saying we're gonna marathon it with drinking games, but it hasn't happened thus far. Supernatural does sound up my alley though, what with the incest and mythology.
Ed's "keep smiling" is MY FAVORITE LINE OF THE FILM. omg. SO GOOD. It really says something about the kind of king he was. I tend to write Edmund as maybe a bit too Machiavellian because of it.
I want Dawn Treader NOW.
ME TOO ME TOO ME TOO AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH

LOL the incest isn't canon... It's worth it if you wanna get into it. Considering it's in its fifth season now, that'd be a pretty bloody epic marathon!
There wasn't enough Edmund in PC. But I completely agree, Peter was the one making the bold moves, and Ed was the one with an eye on the people. I can imagine Peter saying things like, "Well why don't we just do this?" and Ed sighing and saying, "It's not that simple..."

Yes! Also, one of my favorite pieces of Narnia fanon is that Edmund ran the spy network in the Golden Age.
no subject
Oh! I hadn't heard that bit! I'm missing out on Narnia fandom! but I am intrigued by that, I'd totally buy it.

Edmund is usually head of the spy network in my fics, even when it isn't stated explicitly, even if it's just him musing about informants. Here's (http://liminalliz.livejournal.com/1206227.html) the first fic I read with spymaster!Edmund, and it captured my imagination. Edmunnnnnnd.
Man, there is some excellent stuff in post-PC Narnia fandom. Seriously, name your poison and I will rec you some. \o/

You have opened such a Pandora's box I can't even tell you. So much fic... You got any good Edmund/Caspian stuff? I feel like I'm going to my dealer, lol! Or like, anything set where instead of Edmund jumping off the tower onto that griffin, he's captured instead? (BTW, that was SUCH a Back To The Future 2 move, I just about exploded when I saw it, cos I love me some Michael J Fox. You know, the bit in the alternate 1985 when Marty jumps off the roof onto the DeLorean? Yeah.)
no subject
LOL Back to the Future!! I love those movies so effing much. I remember some haters were like "well the scene where Edmund jumps off is like the LOTR scene where Gandalf jumps off, how derivative!" and some awesome person was like "well before Gandalf did it, MARTY MCFLY DID." It made my day.
no subject
Oh me too! Marty McFly is the original and the best at stepping off tall buildings onto flying things. I hate how people go on about Narnia being "derivative" of LOTR. They're both fantasy films, and there are certain things that fantasy films have in common. It's not derivative, it's just things in common!

Or how people say Harry Potter rips off the Books of Magic. Granted, the two are... eerily similar.
