Sinter/Piet, "Hey, Nick, have you ever thought of having wolves pull our sleigh?"
"Ah, my little Moor," Nicholas chortles in his booming voice, "this is why I enjoy your company so: you never cease to make me laugh."
Piet replies quietly, "I do not wish to make you laugh."
"Quite right," says Nicholas, "for making people laugh ought to be my business, isn't that right?"
Piet sighs and looks out at the snowy landscape which is nothing like the home he once knew, but now the only home knows. The love of his master is great and engulfing, and it is the only love he has.
