So much love for the Anna/Narnia. I, of course, want MORE. As I mentioned over on AOOO, this is reminiscent of the same spiritual journey of Lucy in Adonai and I do see these characters as potentially being very similar, if anyone ever bothered to write Lucy properly. Chuck and Aslan (or is the better analogy, Lewis?) need to have words, oh yes. And Castiel and Edmund can have a nice long talk about redemption and Lucy and Anna will go do lovely glowing sorts of things, and Anna will go and visit Susan lots after the train crash.

Oh and yeah, I don't watch SPN, I just read the fic.

Her singing in the desert and standing on the blood falls of Antarctica (I'm totally seeing a Jadis white on red thing there) were so gorgeous.

I don't deny that I'm attracted to certain stories and certain ways of telling them ;). I wonder if I'm running out of ways to talk about the desert. Perhaps I should move on to oceans, or caves. As far as Susan and Anna are concerned, oh, I already have that fic outlined clearly in my head. Someday I might actually write it, haha!

Biomeporn, oh yes. I've really been wanting some talented vid maker to do the Boom De Yada Discovery channel song to clips from Narnia and LoTR. And no, do not leave the desert, just include oceans and caves too. Now I'm sliding into Narnia, but it's where my head is, and it irritates me to read all the stories where the Pevensies are all We HATES THIS WORLD because it's not Narnia. I always come away thinking, well, it's not Narnia, sure, but this world does have some pretty fantastic places too.

What are the characters supposed to have been doing during that one year? Looking for Morgana I guess? What does that do to Uther? What does what it does to Uther do to Arthur? And what of Gwen and Arthur's whole THANG? What of Merlin harboring the secret of TRYING TO KILL MORGANA, WHAT. IT IS TOO MUCH TO HAVE IT BE ONE YEAR LATER. WHAT IS THIS CRAZY PACING DECISION.

I was writing the fic as angelhood=earth and earthtime=Narnia.

Maybe Merlin has told them everything and they are plotting OT3-like to go find Morgana and overthrow Uther!!! (I wish. Doubt it, though) I want it to be September NOW.

So, I need to add more after Skyping with the Narnia gals Metonomia> and L_A_R_M (and WHERE is Be_TheMoon???) about how wonderfully you explore journeys across spiritual and metaphysical landscapes. Adonai and your Susan, Edmund search for magic in Calormen story come to mind (which also features the desert which you use to such great effect here). These are characters who are all searching for something or some things, and traveling great distances, physically, internally, or both to attain them.

OMG IKR. Who is pacing this crap?! What are they even trying to accomplish with that?! Then again it could be interesting having S3 start in TOTAL CHAOS. What with Uther running everyone into the ground trying to find Morgana and killing moar witches, moar druids, KILL THEM ALL. Arthur struggling to be a good prince and a good son, having to choose too often between supporting his father and saving his people. Merlin bears the brunt of Arthur's angst, Arthur and Gwen continue to eyefuck?

Or they will reset it all and Morgana will be back being her usual self! which is to say they will not let her be USEFUL to anyone--my irritation with her arc, let me show you it!

But! Probably Gwen and Arthur will still be like "We can't be together! LET'S ANGST AND SAVE EACH OTHER A COUPLE MORE TIMES."

There might not be a reveal of Merlin's magic either, which means more Arthur being conveniently blind, deaf, dumb and/or unconscious. :/ I kind of wanted Morgana to come back, reveal Merlin's magic, and kick the everloving shit out of him for trying to kill her. ALSO, I'm totally worried that any friendship between the two girls will be totally screwed. I was hoping to see some Gwen and Morgana friendship angsting! I'm not too bothered at not!reveal, though I do wonder how many seasons they can keep this up XD. God, I want Uther increasingly paranoid, Arthur having more pained clashes with his father, Merlin slipping further into moral gray area, and Gwen trying to keep everyone together. Everyone is tired :( and misses Morgana.

I guess with one year passing, Gwen/Morgana friendship has no choice but to be angsty!

Oh man, Merlin was like THE THING THAT ATE FANDOM when it came out. People on my flist I haven't talked to in forever got into it, and then we were talking again! MERLIN, bringing people together since yeah.

Aaaaahhhh Morgana/anyone is THE BEST, and Morgana is my favorite, unless it's Arthur, I forget which of the two I favorited first, but it has been Morgana recently because I find her story arc slightly more compelling. I also have a soft spot for Will, the 'villains' whose reasons to hate Uther are actually pretty reasonable, and Gaius's creepy and morally sketchy ways.

Merlin and Cas need to hang out during some happy hour and discuss why fandom keeps on writing them as these delicate flowers when in actuality they are terrifyingly powerful. It'll be hilarious; one drinks liquor stores, the other is singing after one whiff of a barmaid's apron, and together they are totally not in love with their charges what are you talking about huh they gotta go bye.

THERE HAVE BEEN SOME SPN CROSSOVERS bouncing in my head since forever. One of which is Uther hires the Winchesters as Witchfinders, and Dean and Uther bond over hating witches, and Arthur is jealous, and then Arthur/Dean. One is maybe a Stanford-era fic where Dean gains a temporary sidekick in the form of either Merlin or Morgana, who is looking for Arthur, not that it's articulated, and then Dean and them bond over holes in their lives, and then they have sex.

I have been super neglectful with my flist. So, late comment is really late!
