A tribute to the knights. Not only did it make me feel feeeeeelings, it made me want random knight ships more than usual. Lancelot/Leon: valiant loyalty and fabulous hair.

- THIS: "Colin has said that Merlin will go to some dark places this season, so his hope before of Merlin going 'dark' and showing a possibly meaner side to himself instead of the usual 'lovable idiot' Merlin is going to be show." FUCKING HELL YES. This is what I've always wanted for him, y'know. He's always running around doing all sorts of regrettable things that he thinks is for the best but is actually morally suspect, and let's see some fallout on that, Show. Let's see him linger on sacrifices and pyrrhic victories and try to figure it out if - if given the chance - he would have made the same decisions. I want the fic of him abusing his influence over Arthur where he is the king's right-hand in name only, Arthur under Merlin's sway unbeknownst. I MEAN, IT'S NOT THAT FAR OFF FROM CANON, EH, ARTHUR BEING A BIT THICK ABOUT THESE THINGS.
In conclusion, I have a type.
- Is it just me or is Gwen getting the best character development arc in the show? Arthur and Merlin are in stasis because changing the status quo between them re: magic is being put off by the show for as long as inhumanly possible, so it necessitates Arthur being thick and Merlin being silly. Morgana requires you to do a lot of headcanoning. Gwen, though! We've seen her develop from foot-in-mouth girl to kingdom-saving moral compass of Camelot's sekrit crime-solving elite. And now her role will continue to "change throughout the season". Gwen, my BAMF, four for you!

I fucking love Iron Chef and when I realized that Wo Fat WAS THE CHAIRMAN, MAN, YOU HAD NO IDEA THE INTENSITY OF MY JOYGASMS. But more on the Chairman later because LOOOOOOOOOL CHEF MORIMOTO, HOW DID YOU GET HERE?! DID YOU STEP THROUGH A WARDROBE, LANDING IN THIS MAGICAL PLACE?! YOU GUYS, DO YOU REALIZE THAT WHAT ESSENTIALLY HAPPENED HERE IS HAWAII 5-0/IRON CHEF CROSSOVER??!? Why Morimoto and not the other Iron Chefs? CHAIRMAN, ARE YOU PLAYING FAVORITES? - Ugh, Chin, you WAIT for them to dock before announcing yourself. But then we would've been cheated out of Chin and Danny jumping onto that boat. Chin and Danny double-teaming this dude is unf so hot. UNF CHIN. Speakinna this scene:
I REALLY DON'T HAVE ANY COHERENT REACTION TO THIS.
- NO HUGS FOR CHIN. (Chin and Cas should hug.) Augh, I have been wanting the episode about Chin's past for SO LONG. THE SILENCE THAT FELL ACROSS THE ROOM. THE UNCLE ADDRESSING MOSTLY KONO. SUCH A GENTLE KISS ON THEIR AUNTIE'S CHEEK. AND THEN AND THEN I thought-yelled at the screen, "DON'T LIE TO YOUR COUSIN, CHIN," and then a second later, KONO ACTUALLY SAID IT. AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH KONOOOOOOO. OH GOD FAMILIAL RIFTS. And in the end?! When their auntie died and there were no Chin/Kono hugs?! Shut up, I know I'm not a hug person, but Chin and Kono are ~different and they TOTALLY WOULD'VE HUGGED, EXCEPT FOR THIS PALL OF CHIN'S HEAVY LIFE DECISIONS HANGING OVER THEM. SHUT UP SHUT UP, I TOTALLY WANTED KONO TEARING UP IN CHIN'S ARMS, SHUT UP, DON'T JUDGE ME.
But then later, maybe later, maybe that night, maybe some other night, maybe Chin shows up at Kono's door with the desire to apologize, but for what, he doesn't know, some part of his mind telling him he doesn't owe anyone an apology because what he did was a good thing, a right thing, but he's always hated seeing Kono cry. That afternoon in the car has stuck with him, gritty and rough and rubbing him raw, and really, the only person in the family now who would even deign to humor his apology is Kono, but she doesn't deserve that burden, doesn't deserve the heaviness of forgiving him even though that's what she's been doing all these years when all the rest of the family just cast him aside.
But then Chin realizes something, standing on her welcome mat like a door-to-door salesman peddling god knows what, he realizes: it's not that she's been forgiving him all these years. She never did, because she never thought there was anything to forgive him for. But now, now there is.
No seriously, I love Iron Chef and seeing the Chairman as Wo Fat is absofuckinglutely DEEEEELIGHTFUL because I just love him so much, okay, so much, and this is why and I refuse to put it behind a cut:

I'd say Gaius too, but I think that's more stasis than anything. Gwen and to a lesser extent Uther have been allowed to develop organically.
