- This show is still magic, especially Amanda. I have successfully unseen her as the terrible mother from Vampire Diaries and The OC. Amanda, so amazing.

- Okay, in the first half of the season I have been meh about Michael ships, but make him encroach on Alex and I am all over that, apparently. Oh hai creepy personal space and privacy invasions. BRING ON THE INAPPROPRIATE FEELINGS AND THE MANIPULATION THEREOF. Oh, man, why are none of my ships happy (except maybe you, Mishalecki, for now)? Michael crashes Alex's dinner date and I am all >D OIC.

- But my true feelings lie with Michael/Alex/Nikita. The scene where Michael and Nikita are basically fighting over Alex, and Michael kept on saying MY AGENT? Fuck yeah. Michael just wants his agent back. His agent.

- I'm not feeling Alex's love interest. I don't even remember his name. I thought for sure he was a plant that was gonna fuck shit up. idk, something about him just screams 'douche' to me! I fully cop to my Alex/Nikita OTP goggles being in the way, though.

- That final scene with Michael in Nikita's loft? Well played. OMG WHAT HAPPENS NEXT TELL ME NOW NOW.

- NGL, every time I see Childs on-screen, I am like ARGH IT'S WAR RUN ALICIA RUUUUNNNNNN.

- Judge Abernathy still cracks my shit up. I just want to hang out and weave baskets with him.

- I was so thrilled to see FBI Agent Lana back on my screen and attempting her very best to seduce Kalinda! UNF OMG. I both love and hate Kalinda for cockblocking, though. Also, Kalinda is (still) magic because whereas before I loathed the idea of Blake/Kalinda (even hatesex) and was LOL at Cary/Kalinda, canon has made me enjoy scenes of both. CAN WE TALK ABOUT BLAKE AND KALINDA STRIPPING EACH OTHER DOWN TO UNDERWEAR? AND KALINDA SLAMMING BLAKE AGAINST THE WALL? AND THEN THE BASEBALL BAT!! She is my hero. Can we talk about Cary trying to protect Kalinda, d'aaaawwww. ahahaha I am so easy: if you try your damndest support Kalinda, I will like you.

I realize this is important for plot reasons, but mostly I just want to stab things until everyone is BFFs again. People who felt upset at the Sam&Dean relationship in S4, I understand you now!

The Good Wife is only pretending to be a show about lawyers. It's actually a show about sneaky political maneuvering. Okay, it's sometimes about bleeding-heart lawyers, whatever, but most times it's about power struggles and how to play the public and how good people sometimes lose. In a different show, these people would be antagonists. In this show, it's not that clear-cut. "Being right is the last refuge of the loser," said Will. Also, look at this clip of Lana trying to seduce Kalinda as Kalinda tries to get information from her.

Oh my god he totally does! Cas is indeed everywhere, he was in the White Collar finale this week, granted as a painting of the Chrysler building (homg Lass he was so pretty with these bright cobalt blue and yellows and all big sweeping brushwork), still that counts right?

Michael working with Nikita is definitely going to change the dynamic- Nikita will be all 'must atone for past sins' and sending Alex off into missions and Michael will be all 'but she's my agent' and Nikita will be all 'I love her too y'know, it's not just you who's worried about her,' then there are sexytiems and in Division he'sall growly and protective of Alex with Amanda... Oh, it'll be glorious.

ahahaha I will never be able to explain to non-SPN fans the jolt of joy I feel when I see a picture of the Chrysler Building. LOOK GUYS IT IS MY ONE TRUE LOVE.

Oh, and the other thing I forgot to squee about up there is also how they're letting Nikita slip into morally gray territory. Alex is no longer reliant on Nikita for a moral compass, and that makes you wonder about both their motivations and vulnerabilities. It's great. I do wonder what Michael will say about their relentless atonement, and what they'll have to say about his. OMG IS ALEX GOING TO BE JEALOUS OF NIKITA AND MICHAEL'S SHARED HISTORY? omg what if she wants it to be just her and nikita again just like how it used to beeeee. Does Nikita become a source of contention between her and Michael?! omg, i would love it.

I'm not quite sure what to make of the Amanda spoilers. I'm not seeing the tiger mom thing, but I guess if that's been how Melinda's been interpreting her character, well... I guess there's something to it. I just prefer Amanda to be ruthlessly practical, but I'm willing to see where they go with it. I love love love the thing about different fighting styles and their description of Amanda's fighting style there. YES THAT IS WHY I LOVE HER.

Morally grey territories are the best! Nikita's little face when she kept watching Alex shoot the Russian guy- it was so what if Division got to her after all? What if I thought she was innocent for too long? SO MANY QUESTIONS.

OMG IS ALEX GOING TO BE JEALOUS OF NIKITA AND MICHAEL'S SHARED HISTORY?

YES! I would love that, Nikita and Michael planning missions and sharing all these flirty looks and having all these in jokes and telling her to wait in the car/bushes/roof/whatever on guard duty while Nikita and Michael go and take care of everything. She doesn't want to be a little girl anymore, Alex trying to prove that she is strong, she can take her of herself! Of course she wants it to Nikita and her again! Nikita keeps having talks with michael and going on missions that are 'too dangerous' for Alex. Nikita is a source of contention between Michael and Alex, Nikita and Michael fight over Alex and maybe, maybe Nikita gets jealous of Alex sometimes, the way that Michael looks at her like she's the only one worth protecting.

I agree about not agreeing with Melinda's 'tiger mom' thing- for me there is no type of 'mom' about Amanda, the fighting technique says it all- she's ruthless, she's efficient, what Amanda wants, Amanda gets, basically, nevermind about the collateral damage. Oh, Amanda, she is rather spectacular, there's something quite mesmerising about her.

I'm really intrigued by Alex's past and the decision to keep all that hidden from us until now. This is only going to make her more interesting. The abyss is looking back at her.

Hahaha, we are getting so many fic ideas from just the promo already. I really do hope the fandom grows. I haven't been keeping tabs on it so much, but I would love more fic about Alex pining for Nikita, and Nikita being possessive over Alex, and Michael possessive over Alex, and Alex trying to prove herself to them both. In bed.

Amanda's so beautiful and in control. Placid but not passive. I love her observant, calculating way.

Pasts are always intriguing, it'd be brilliant if they did another flashback ep like they did with Michael, I know we've been getting these flashes every so often of Alex's dad, I really like that he's been portrayed as a shady kinda character. Amanda's past would be so awesome- like if Amanda's doing her weird ~I will see your dreams# hyponsis routine and Alex overpowers her and we get to see flashes ( or y'know an entire ep, I'm easy that way) of how Amanda got into all this.

Lol yes! Just imagine what the actual episodes will bring!Hmm haven't really ventured much into the fandom other than to be all ~HOMG she's such a HBIC~ on promos and vids and such. Part of it is, The SPN fandom has spoiled me for all other fandoms, everything looks to vanilla by comparison, it's really quite sad.

Amanda *is* really quite beautiful, reminds me a little of River Tam when she's all spaced out. Calculating, insanely clever villains are the best, there is no pleasure to be had with stupid villains, they become rather ridiculous.

Yeah, I am surprised and thrilled at how into Amanda I am. I thought I would be more into Birkhoff, and not just because he played Pyro in X2. I think once upon a time, probably high school, Birkhoff would totally have ended up my favorite character, but I'm surprised by how little I care about him sometimes. I mean, I do like him! I do. But sometimes I forget he's even on this show until he show up onscreen.

SPN fandom has spoiled me for EVERYTHING. This fandom is nuts. I need a twelve-step program, and maybe some methadone.

Birkhoff is just meh, they had a about two minutes of will he secretly help Nikita in like the pilot and now he just goes around doing everyone's bidding. He's funny sometimes, that's a plus I guess.

I really hope they don't drag on the bf storyline for Alex and try and do a Nikita/Daniel mirror, that guy (I forget his name)is even more meh than Birkhoff, in fact sometimes he's just irrating. It seems shallow but partly it's his face, there's just something douchey yet bland even when he's being sweet. Maybe it's the hair? idk....

On a completely different note- I think I wanna take part in the artforjapan thing, at least I've started on the art but how does one go about these things? I've contacted the mods via the email the provided, haven't got a reply yet- do I wait for a reply? Will there ever be a reply? what do I do with the art when it's done? Agh, it's eating my brain!!

It's kind of endearing that he's the long-suffering grunt though. And he's not really a grunt, he's actually pretty important in Division as resident computer whiz. He just snarks a lot and has a big ego, and I enjoy his presence, but I am not curious to know more about him the way I am about, say, Jayden. I am not curious to SEE more of him the way I am with Amanda.

Anyway, WHERE IS JAYDEN?? I miss her!

I find him irritating too! Yay, I'm not the only one. I can appreciate him as a symbol of normalcy for Alex, but as a character I don't find him compelling. He looks kind of like a guy they'd cast to play an asshole fratboy.

I don't know how they plan to run it, so yeah I guess I'd wait for a reply from them. I've never done these things off LJ before.

JAYDEN AND HER PSUEDO EVIL WAYS!

I love her like I love Amanda, always up in other people's business, I thought for sure she'd out Alex the first part of the season.

oooh, there could be Michael/Jayden showdown as Jayden comes closer and closer to finding out the truth as Michael and Alex talk in hushed whispers in seemingly deserted corridors about their next mission, Michael thinks for sure they'll never be heard there, but Jayden has her sneaky ways...
Then Jayden's all like Michael 'I need to talk to you about Alex' and Michael nods, calm, cool, but his heart's beating double time, so afraid that if he's found out then not only will he be terminated, but Alex and Nikita. He dismisses Jayden with sharp words but she keeps digging, not much else to do in Division as a recruit and she then finds out out about Michael, or think she does, but this is bigger than anything she could;ve dreamt of so she goes to Amanda-
Then of course there is the Amanda and Michael confrontation, it may or may not involve clothes and angry sex, y'know, whatever.

Yeah, physical copies, well I was thinking of doing a landscape (well, I say thinking, I'm kinda half way through) and it's .jpg, tbh, I really don't have the time (or in fact the budget )to get it printed nicely and then mail it to whoever...oh, well, I'll guess I'll catch the next round of the LJ one, the deadline for contributions is tomorrow for this round and I'm so not going to make that. The bidding for both help_japan communities start today! I think I'm gonna offer to make a fanmix. I have enough fics to be worrying about, but tooling around with music and Photoshop is something I can def do. For you, Japan! Also Japan's aid infrastructure is pretty strong, and I'm less worried about the funds going awry.

Yeah, the distribution of aid money should fine in Japan, there's no corruption as far as I know, that's the thing that most often halts rebuilding efforts, Pakistan had some real problems I know with that.

So many natural disasters recently!It's terrible, there seems to an earthquake or volcano or tsunami every few weeks, very troubling. :(

We're still at the beginning stages of this, and now it's going to be even more difficult now that we're super long-distance. I'm pretty thrilled and surprised at how people seem to be digging it, considering I didn't post it to any comms.

I don't mean to be making excuses for myself, but that's part of the reason I wasn't more enthusiastic to make a help_indonesia. Even during the 2004 tsunami, the aid got shored up at checkpoints and a lot of times didn't get to where it was supposed to go, and that's in addition to the corruption.

IKR? I think a lot of it is that we're more aware of these disasters though. There's probably not that much of an increase in the frequency of seismic disaster, but now the technology to track it and tell the world about it has improved.

That's true, communications has really come a long way and everything seems so much more real and disastrous now that we can see it live action on TV rather than reading it in a newspaper.

Population density is a factor too I suppose, far more people living closer and closer to the disaster prone areas so the death toll, the number of people homeless, the missing, the injured, rises. One of the few real pitfalls of the modern world.

I totally get it about being reluctant to send huge amounts of aid to countries where the money won't reach the worst affected. At the end of the day, it's our hard earned money and if it's not going to reach the people who need it and is instead goes into the pockets of the middle men and the bureaucrats, what's even the point? Corruption is holding back so much of the poorer countries, it's tragic.

Population density is definitely a factor. Another is building codes and whether that's being held up or not. Japan knows how to earthquake-proof itself. It has the experience to have a good disaster response system. Indonesia was never that organized. Even when the tsunami warning system was put in place, it quickly sank into disrepair because no one knew how to maintain it properly. Ugh.

Maintenance is definitely the biggest problem in the devloping countries, it stems from corruption again and what's worse, because of corruption no one with strong morals and integrity gets into the government, at least not at the community/town/state level, (at least that has been my experience from India. Until things change at the grass roots level, nothinng big is going to change over all, part of the reason why Chennai and Delhi have some of the biggest software HQs in the world yet there is such great disparity in wealth and flooding still devastates the rural communities.

It is indeed ugh.

KALIINDAAA!!!!!!!!!! She's so awesome and badass and that deep voice and that way of walking and the cute leather jackets and how she's so ~i got this~ and then she smiles and it's so beautiful!!! I'm in love. For reals.

ALICIA!! She's awesome too and kind and she's smart and wears sexy suits and walks like a boss, and talks like a boss, but then she's so vulnerable and fragile, but oh so brave. I also love her eyebrows (is that weird?)!

Then there's War, and he's creepy here too, and then Ava who always ends up killing someone one way or the other, and that crazy dragon 'mentor' lady who looks really familiar but I can't quite place....

Then, then, there's the camera work at the beginning with the noticing the little thread and Alicia just reaching out to brush it off but then peter's got her hand and it's like a brilliant metaphor for her life.

Those pictures of her family at the end! They look so happy! Idk, Peter still gives me the creeps, he seems shifty all round. Whatever, I love him anyway, and I love the kids, I even love the old mother in law being so delightfully mother in law-y.

:DDDDDDDDD I am so thrilled you are enjoying it! Oh gosh, Kalinda should be everyone's hero. Also she just has great taste in clothes. And Alicia, I really love how in the beginning, the show doesn't shy away from portraying her vulnerability, but she still deals with it and gets used to the playing field. I didn't like Peter at first in the beginning. I was on Alicia's side and was dismissive of him, but I really admire this show for not skimping on characterization on any of the characters, eventually. Wait 'til Alan Cummings shows up. He is amazing.
