spn fic: wait for the sound (jimmy/amelia, claire; r)

I was challenging myself to write shmoop, so this happened. Sorry though, Lex and Skies, there are no cherry blossoms or dancing lessons to be had in this one. Nevertheless, I think this is the first unironically happy, shippy SPN fic I've written. ENJOY IT WHILE YOU CAN, NOVAKS.

Title is from 'Soldier of Love' by Sade. I'm going out of town tomorrow until the 21st, and I'm not sure how good my internet access is gonna be. Let's assume it won't be good.

'Breathe On Mirrors' - SPN fanmix - Jimmy/Amelia

Nextly, here's my official entry to [livejournal.com profile] spnrarepairs, a Jimmy/Amelia mix for [livejournal.com profile] gladdecease.


a bow shoots arrows through the air
a bow drags notes from a fiddle

Winter For A Year was based on this mix, which made for an interesting prompt-filled writing process. It was also initially written in the second person, fun fact. The mix title is a reference to a lyric from Arcade Fire's "Winter For A Year", which is totally about Narnia. TOTALLY. I mean, jackets that never turn to branches? Come on now. Which is why Jimmy read the books to Claire when she was younger. It's also where all the winter scenes come from. Amelia's Lake Michigan memories come from the Tori Amos song.

One day I'll write an actualfax SPN/Narnia crossover. Anna/Susan and alienation from home! Post-S3 Sam (or MysterySpot!Sam?) stumbling into a magical world while looking for answers! WHAT IF THE EMPEROR OVER THE SEA IS GABE?

+ I have no polling capabilities, so here is a question: how many songs should be on a fanmix? At least 8? At least 10? Ideally 12? You love 14 maybe? 15, get an odd number in there.
