*tilts head* *frowns*

I think too much time spent around whey-guzzling gymrats has given me unrealistic expectations of the male body.

btw I am thinking very deep thoughts about ancient ethnography right now. Not about men. Or bodies. And I'm definitely not looking at my flist.

Uh, right now I'm fiddling about with possible ethnographic elements in Homer's Odyssey, so "ethnography of what?" is probably a good question. Possibly monsters. (This really goes far too far into "game with very few pieces" territory for me; I'm happier with the classical period and the (debated) beginnings of Orientalism and so forth.)

*consolidates* Pratchett -- it's been a while, honestly, but I'd say the biggest thing is that he doesn't get the workings of prejudice, at all, but he thinks he does and probably reckons he's ever-so-liberal, in that easy, Guardian-reader sort of way. *shrug* I'm a humourless feminist and all that, you know how it is. And some of his characters really do seem to act as his mouthpieces and are pretty consistently backed up by the text. Vimes, in particular.

Yeah, I hate the rose. Just in general. I think one of my dearest and darlingest occasionally wears a white rose perfume that's quite nice, but aside from that, no, no, just fucking no. But, uh *wracks sense-memory* I have vague memories of L'Occitane green tea & mint as fairly fresh and light. And bergamot tea as -- predictably -- a bit like Earl Grey. Though that could be a false memory suggested by the name. I am just useless, useless about aquatics, I'm afraid.

GOD I KNOW, RITE? When Bedlam tossed that one up before my brain just whited out, I swear, and has been hissing and spluttering ever since.

moreover, he wears shirtlessness rather well

No one quite knew what to do when Peter decided to hold court wearing only a pair of jeans, sunglasses, and his crown, but no one said a thing about it because he's the goddamn High King, that's what.

i can't tell if he's asking for a light or hard drugs

[identity profile] cupiscent.livejournal.com 2009-08-04 01:04 pm (UTC)(link)
It's the mental image of Peter slouched in his throne, knee over one arm of it. Cheek smeared all over the hand that's propping him up. Yes, WHAT?

...I think evil!Peter muse just woke up, which is totally not what I need when I'm about to start a time-consuming temp job. *facepalm*

[identity profile] twoskeletons.livejournal.com 2009-08-04 02:09 pm (UTC)(link)
I remember you mentioning evil!Peter and then not following through! SAD. omg write it, Deeeeee, WRIIIITE IIIIIIIT. Can't you see?! He knows his own power, he knows that he is Aslan's chosen one, and that is all the justification he neeeeeeeeds!

and that is a whole other kettle of awesome evil (and awesome) than the one I was stirring - I think you should write powertrip!Peter. *G*

I want to write mine, I really really do. I also want to write crazy darkside Star Wars AUs, and Slytherin groundhog days, and wingfic for obscure Australian cop dramas. Unfortunately, what I have to do is have a proper job. Fascists. *pouts*

Is this person famous or are we just amused by the crown/joint/abs combo?

it's good to be high king

[identity profile] twoskeletons.livejournal.com 2009-08-04 12:46 pm (UTC)(link)
This is off-camera Noah Hunter playing the older Peter in the 2005 Lion Witch Wardrobe movie, though the only evidence of that is the crown and the hair. He also looks kinda like Sawyer from Lost here. What if Sawyer was High King of Narnia?
