and there's also remix deadline to think about
A few years ago, someone made a Supernatural fanart that I think was also a Boondocks fusion, wherein an aged-up Huey and Riley Freeman were hunters. I hear that the comments contain interesting discussion about how life would be different for Sam and Dean if they were black. I have tried looking EVERYWHERE for this, but alas, I cannot find this fanart. Do any of you have a link? ETA: Found! Thanks,
nextian. No discussion in the comments though :( . I guess that happened in the referring post itself, wherever that is.
Hey, SPN 5x21.
I googled 'delacroix shrimping' and this is what came up:

So that's where Mr. Comatose banished himself to, I guess. I have this image of the shrimpers pulling in their nets for the day, and WTF there's this guy in there with his limbs sticking out of the mounds of shrimp and fish. Holy shitcakes! Which brings me to my next point: has Cas washed his clothes since then? Probably not, in which case I pity whoever had to sit next to him on the bus. But if he did, then what was he wearing while his clothes were being washed?
How did he get money for bus tickets? Have the Winchesters taught him how to grift yet? How did he pay for hospitalization? Is Jimmy's health insurance still working, for some reason? Cas's last insurance provider was Heaven, and that didn't work out so well. As Dean Smith once said, "You don't want to fight ghosts without health insurance." That goes double for averting the apocalypse. I'm inclined to think Cas just walked out of the hospital without paying because a) he doesn't know any better, and b) he's got shit to do, yo.
My account doesn't have polling capabilities, so lemme just ask it straight. Whose care was Cas under in the hospital? Was it

or
?
I imagine Castiel trying to buy a bus ticket would be similar to Castiel buying a cellphone, except worse because he can't mojo the clerk into complacence. Newly human Cas, what adventures did you have between Delacroix, Louisiana and Davenport, Iowa? Who did you meet and what did you talk to them about? Or did you mostly keep to yourself? What food did you eat at rest stops? Did you get burgers, and did they remind you of Dean? What did you dream about, when you slept?
Why were Sam and Bobby so surprised when Cas revealed that Michael's gonna ride Adam? Didn't we learn this in the 100th episode? And another thing, so, demon blood's not just a placebo and it really can strengthen Sam? Uh...?
ANYWAY. I bet that between the first phone call and Cas showing up at the retirement home, the Winchesters got a lot of phone calls from Castiel stoned off his ass on pain medication. There's not really a lot to do when you're stuck in bed. When Cas is not being mystified by television, he calls Dean and vacillates between being earnest, angry, blubbery, incoherent, too coherent, accusatory, apologetic, frustrated, and resigned.
Speaking of which, this episode calls back croatverse so wonderfully, omg. I LOVE IT. Like Samifer said, "No matter what you do, you will always end up here," and they are all on the verge of ending up here! This is 5x04 in its larval stage! I kind of wanted Dean to be more freaked out by it, but I guess he's too busy ganking horsemen to navel-gaze about futures past. Fine. I guess Team Free Will'll win this time, though, so I'll just sit here and wait for the inevitable croatverse redux AUs to come out where Sam couldn't resist Lucifer after all and is now permanently Samifer. Dean continues to lose it because this future is the same but different, different enough to emphasize what's the same. This is the future he was supposed to prevent. (Dean wonders what he would tell his past self if Zachariah were to send him to this future.)
Is Jimmy finally dead? I am 97% sure he is, but Pestilence still called Cas an "occupied vessel". But now it's just occupied by Cas himself? He doesn't have the power to keep Jimmy around anymore. Or, maybe Gabby's gonna get kripked.
The second best scene was Death making Dean eat the pizza. Dean's submission was A+. That scene was fucking charged. The absolute best scene, though, was Cas losing his shit at the bus ticket vendor.

It was my impression that they weren't surprised, cos Sam said, "We were trying not to think it," or something along those lines. And demon blood never was a placebo, otherwise what was all that Panic Room withdrawal crap for? And Ruby would never have tried so hard to make him drink it, if it meant nothing.
I want to see a film noir AU with Cas and Crowley as private investigators, and have an office like Eddie Valiant in Who Framed Roger Rabbit, with the pull-down bed and everything. Cas all naieve but weird-info-clever, and Crowley all savvy and good at reading people
's minds. Kinda like Booth and Bones, now I think about it! I like Crowley. I reeeeeeally hope he doesn't pull a Ruby, but I can't quite trust him. But at least he's upfront about his sneakiness,!(no subject)

I love love loved the moment when Cas suddenly turned up to save them, and he had donned his trenchcoat yet again. BUT DOES IT SMELL LIKE FISH?! LOLZ I love this. Now I'm dying to see a fic about Castiel on a bus reeking of fish. ROTFL.
All these thoughts are fantastic. Samifer. Love it.

So, see, here's what I'm
obsessed withthinking: season six. They need a lead in; SPN seasons have ALWAYS ended with some epic, tragic cliff hanger. Soooo...Sam's gonna manage to throw Lucifer down the hole but has to take the ride down with him (or Dean has to push him - woe! angst!) and it ends with SAM IN HELL and Dean upstairs trying to figure out how to get him out.Y / N ?
I'm fairly certain Jimmy's still alive; just because I think they'd make a bigger production of it if he were dead. I'm betting Cas is gonna die, though, so will that destroy Jimmy anyway? Or are they angling to keep Jimmy alive? ....yes, I'm still fiddling with that hunter!Jimmy idea....
I too really loved how this referenced the Croat!verse all over the place. I was a little put out because it doesn't look like Sam's gonna say yes in Detroit, which OMG would have been so perfect. *pouts* Anyway. I was obsessed with Dean's jacket, thinking it looks like the Croat!verse jacket. *ponders*
Also, what/who was in that warehouse that Crowley nearly crapped himself trying to get away from? That scene was not there for giggles. Lucie himself?
I don't think I can make it through this week intact, I shall be shivering and stuttering and WAITING OMG SHOW! *claws at tv screen*

:props chin on fists, waits for missing scene Casfic for 5.21:
I could watch many episodes full of Death making Dean do things.
Have the Winchesters taught him how to grift yet?
Combo of Dean and Cas's excellent adventure back in the 5.03 days and Castiel's powers of observation. Wearing stinky clothes would have helped him find a seat on the bus I think?
Or Castiel stabbed a lot of clueless hippies in the head and stalked off the bus like the serial killer he is. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Qn3tel9FWU)
I really fucking hope Castiel called Dean every 3 seconds. Sweet torment is sweet.

"Because the thing is - there is one thing different in this picture, and it changes everything. Imagine these guys driving through small southern towns in their big black car with all manner of guns. Imagine these guys running credit card scams, and trying to talk their way into strangers' houses, and, you know, the other stuff that Dean and Sam do. (Sorry, we have reached the limit of my osmotic fannish knowledge.) It would be a whole different narrative, I'll tell you that for free.
You know what I love most about this picture? Okay. We have lots of stories about bodyswaps of all kinds: his brain, her body! Two brains with but a single body! The brain from an alternate universe! And then we have all the transformation stories: puppyfic! This is closer than I really wanted to get to my feminine (or masculine) side! Wait, I didn't used to have wings! - just all kinds. But I've never seen a bodyswap or transformation involving race. Maybe I haven't been looking in the right places, but this drawing makes me imagine, oh, Cordelia Chase (queen of white privilege!) in Charles Gunn's body (Gender, race, and body swap: the transformation trifecta! Also, she'd probably end up with Wesley macking on her - don't tell me Gunn and Wesley didn't get up to stuff - and then they'd all need years of therapy. More years of therapy, I mean.). It makes me want the universe where John Sheppard is a girl (John Sheppard is always a girl; science has proven this) and Rodney McKay is mixed race. (And maybe Teyla is a robot! Um, no, wait, that's my other fixation creeping in. Sorry, sorry. Bodyswap AUs should not cross with robot AUs. Unless someone is bodyswapping with a robot, in which case we know what happens: TFV dies of happiness.)
Or, of course, we could have the universe where Sam and Dean Winchester are brown. That'd be really damn awesome, don't you think?"

Don't see anything much in the comments there aside from "someone should totally do that omg". alas.
