PILOT: LOL WAT IS DIS MOOSIC. The music is the only difference as far as I can tell. How does this work, was this meant to be any kind of final draft at all, or was the music just a slapdash placemarker for less lolzy music to be put in later? Sam's walking Dean to the car after he breaks into the apartment, and there are ~ORCHESTRAL STRINGS in the background. Sam and Jess make out to "Boulevard of Broken Dreams", and the young man picks up the white lady to "99 Problems". CUTE, GUYS. Speaking of which, how YOUNG they look! Dean's eyes were like superbig.

MOST INTERESTING THOUGH, is when Sam is at that Halloween party in the beginning, and his friend said something like, "Why doesn't your family know about your pre-law successes?" and Sam replied, "Because, we're not exactly the Bradys."

:-O There he is! There's Brady! And his apparently close-knit family! What, he's totally one of those dudes that goes by his last name. Speaking of demonic possession, right:


THE RAPTURE: Was Amelia already possessed by the time they left the house?! WHEN DID SHE GET POSSESSED. WAS IT BEFORE AFTER HER GOODBYE HEARTBREAK WITH JIMMY? It's gotta be before, right, because soon after the men left, she was whaling on Claire. So AMELIA NEVER REALLY GOT TO SAY GOODBYE AT ALL. The entire time in the car, the demon was laughing at her. Her mouth is saying "I'm not going anywhere without you, Jimmy" and the demon is saying how she'll kill him nice and slow, Claire too, and asks Amelia if she knows just how much blood there is in a human body, if she'd like to see. ARGH. FOR A YEAR NOW, Amelia has been trying to get her life back on track, A YEAR, and then Jimmy comes back and holy shit and then HOLY SHIT, and the next thing she knows her husband is dying. The next thing she knows, her husband is no longer her husband and walking out of her life all over again. fjdslfsd FUCK. NOVAKS. ARGH. CAS, YOU GIANT DOUCHE. NO CLOSURE FOR ANYONE EVERRRRRRR.

Jimmy's "Can I see her?" will never not break me. ;___;

GOD, SREIOUSLY. And the more I think about the parallels between vessel consent and sexual consent, I am D: even more. NOVAKS, my favorite one-off characters to be overinvested in AND ESPECIALLY CLAAAAAAIIIRE.

+ I try not to think too hard about the parallels between vessel consent and sexual consent, because Show already enrages my feminism pretty much on a weekly basis (not that sexual consent is an exclusively feminist issue, but, you know, it might as well be). And the worst thing is, I can't even totally blame Kripke for it! He keeps trying to introduce female characters and everyone keeps hating on them! WHY DO YOU HATE JO, FANDOM, WHY? SHE IS SO COOL. For some reason, Supernatural just brings out the worst of our internalized misogyny and I don't even understand why.

+ But, getting back to the sexual consent thing, I would be eternally grateful if they did an episode exploring that comparison in a really uncomfortable way. (And really there is no reason why they shouldn't, because if this season's epic meta nonsense proved anything, it was that the fans are insane and will actually watch anything they do.)

+ CLAIRE. I have so many ideas for how she should come back in fic. Like maybe after Cas goes back to Heaven in the finale, Jimmy is able to go home? OR! After Cas has returned from shenanigans in Heaven, he finds out that Claire is in danger, because the demons are looking for all the vessels to take them apart and see how they work? And Cas feels like he owes it to Jimmy to make sure he's safe, so he calls the Ghostfacers Winchesters and the three of them go to collect her and then they don't know what to do with her, so she spends a few weeks driving around in the car with them? And she has this really weird, complicated relationship with Castiel, because he looks like her dad but he isn't and also she knows who he really is because he TOOK OVER HER MIND that one time, and he feels bad about totally fucking her life, so he is all gruff and awkward? And then eventually they ditch her at Bobby's, and he becomes her sort of surrogate dad, because I have this theory that Bobby would be an awesome father, especially to a girl, because he loves the boys, but he would absolutely dote on a daughter.

I'm glad I was not in fandom when I was consuming the bulk of my SPN for the first time. Apparently ppl hate the Ghostfacers and the Real Ghostbusters episode? How sadface!

Oh god, me too. As much as I love the idea of Claire!Cas, I think that story would only be enriched by an acknowledgment if not an exploration of just how skeevy that is. Consent is such a scarily slippery idea, not just sexually, but say for like participation in psychological/medical experiments or something. If you're about to die and your family is in danger, and you say yes out of desperation, what kind of consent is that?
