every fandom goes through a "language of architecture/interior design" phase, right?

A Soft Tongue Can Break Hard Bones by [livejournal.com profile] sansday
Supernatural | Jimmy, Castiel | PG13
For two beings that are sharing the same body, they have surprisingly little to say to each other.

As Walls Keep Shifting by [livejournal.com profile] haruslex
Supernatural | Dean, Buildingstiel | PG13
Different!vessel AU. "Castiel comes to him after Samhain. Dean's getting used to it now, the way the world warps and shifts around him. Sometimes Cas doesn't even bother to change things. The wallpaper stays the same. But the view out of the window doesn't look out onto the parking lot of the motel any more."

It's a Long Walk Back to Eden by [livejournal.com profile] acerbus_instar
Supernatural | Sam, Cas, Gabriel, Zachariah | PG
Written for [livejournal.com profile] spn_j2_bigbang 2010. AU from 5x18. A year after Dean gives Michael his consent, the Host catches up with Castiel at last. Dragged to Heaven, he now faces Zachariah's brand of divine punishment; and Sam, erstwhile abomination, is the only one left to save him.
The AU forks off from the street preacher scene, in that he actually succeeded in calling the angels before Cas got there. I know for a fact there are at least a couple of you who are interested in Sassy gen adventuretimes (MYSELF INCLUDED). Look no further! Here is a whole Big Bang of said shenanigans. WHERE HAS THIS FIC BEEN ALL MY LIFE?

Is [livejournal.com profile] sharp_teeth still live? I'm still getting replies to my prompts even last week, and it's like Halloween for Christmas on Thanksgiving. Here are a few sharp-teeth recs. I like them because they answered my prompts hehe AND ALSO BECAUSE OF AWESOME and also because omg chiiiiildhood, but with more eerie shit!

see you real soon by [personal profile] bossymarmalade
Classic Disney | Minnie Mouse + ensemble | PG | gore, madness, cannibalism
There's not enough paint to go around anymore now that cartoons are computerized. Donald leaves smudges of white and orange wherever he goes. Pluto melted long ago, and Mickey only has half an ear. They try to redraw themselves with what they can, but is it worth it anymore?
LET'S THREE-DIMENSIONALIZE INNOCUOUS THINGS BY PUTTING THEM IN TERRIBLE SITUATIONS \o/ is my usual approach to fandom, so unsurprisingly, this is my very favorite.

On the Ice by [livejournal.com profile] elvenpiratelady
Magic School Bus | Arnold + ensemble | R | violence
They are on a field trip learning about the tundra when it all goes horribly wrong.
Random confessions time: when I was a kid, I started writing Magic School Bus fanfic set in high school, and the kids were all angsty and in bad relationships and making bad decisions. I still want that fic. End of confessions. What was up with Ms. Frizzle? Was she a being from another planet? Did she make a deal with a crossroads demon of science? Did she train with Mary Poppins?

So Eden Sank to Grief by [livejournal.com profile] chibifrieza
Duck Tales/Supernatural | Scrooge McDuck | PG
Scrooge McDuck made a deal with the devil years ago, and now his time is almost up.
Do you know how much I love the Disney ducks? DO YOU?? I related way too much to Donald Duck, which perhaps explains an uncomfortable amount of my current M.O.

Subtraction Stew by [livejournal.com profile] ptelefolone
The Phantom Tollbooth | Milo, Tock, the Humbug | PG13
Milo has eaten too much subtraction stew.
I can't be the only one who was majorly creeped out by Phantom Tollbooth, right? My love for cheesy word jokes and personified abstractions begin here.

I'm making a sharp-teeth [livejournal.com profile] sawedoff_recs post in a week or so, and WOAH SO MUCH TO READ. Is the masterlist even updated anymore? I wrote exactly one thing for sharp-teeth (with continuations in subsequent comment replies), and it is the definition of self-indulgent:

But With Zombies | X-Files/Supernatural | Scully, Mulder, Dean, Cas | PG13
Endverse AU. Mulder and Scully: The world ends right on schedule, but not as they'd feared.

We're just waiting for Norman Reedus's character to show up on The Walking Dead so we can have even more orgiastic crossover madness.

Also up for discussion is how H50 is THE SPARKLIEST and Steve and Danny are in looooove.

I plan on updating the master list at sharp_teeth today. Though there's not a lot to add, maybe 5 ficlet/art to my last count. YAY for a rec list!

I kind of love how you've copy-pasted a bit with a SPAG error. Oh, me. Will I EVER learn? (the answer is 'no')

Godddd sharp-teeth. I haven't written a single thing and so many people have written awesome things for my prompts. D: D: D: I'm a bad person. A bad, lazy person.

I am enjoying the hell out of some of those Sharp Teeth things. As much protesting I do that horror isn't my genre, I now find myself really liking it. AND I'M TOTALLY BITING MY NAILS JUMPING UP AND DOWN WAITING FOR SOMEONE TO FILL [livejournal.com profile] haruslex's HOUSE OF LEAVES PROMPT SDKLJFDSLK

OMG SASSY GEN ADVENTURETIMES :DDD Thank god I have wednesday off class and can actually have an excuse to read this :DDDD

omgggg The Phantom Tollbooth was wonderful. It was terrifying and unnerving and confusing and I loved it so much :D I liked the half-baked ideas! and the place with the sounds!

[identity profile] metonomia.livejournal.com 2010-11-15 11:53 pm (UTC)(link)
akdjpaoeijpogj THAT SASSY GEN FIC OMG flipping ouuuuuut.

I reallly reallllllly like Joshua as God, as that was my hypothesis back when we met him. I suppose Show has told me that he is not, in fact, God, but I still like it a lot.

Can you just rec me things forever?

ALSO SHARP-TEETH. Since I have to have essays and shit done before Thanksgiving, I get to spent that entire five days ficcing, so man, prepare for some John/Mary Orpheus/Eurydice coming your way.

[identity profile] dayadhvam-triad.livejournal.com 2010-11-16 07:19 am (UTC)(link)
/saves all the links--When I'm not so busy I'm def going to sit down and actually read fic, which I haven't done in like more than a week. RL, why so tiring and busy? D:

THANK YOU FOR THE REC. \o/ And all the other recs! I read all the other sharp_teeth ones this morning and DAMN they are amazing. :D

I have a question for you, since your post popped up at something resembling an opportune time ("Frieza," I said to myself, "if there is anyone you can ask about fandom ettiquette or how not to give a damn, it's Lass"): how do you feel about people recording their own fic? Because I was re-reading that poetry curse fic I wrote for you because it had to be written, and thinking that a podfic version could be either spectacular or disappointing, and that in either case I don't think I'd trust anyone but me to do it (because apparently I am ferociously territorial that way, oops). Except for how I have never podficced before and it might be seen as self-aggrandizing? And I'm sure I would want to go on and record most of my other fics and it feels like kind of a slippery slope, but maybe it could be fun like waterslides!

IDK, ADVISE ME. Please?
