It began as wandersfound's fault with the hunter!Jimmy thing, but I reckon if callowyn and I end up constructing a mumble-thousand word outline about the twincestuous adventures of hunter twins Jimmy and Jacob (Glaser) Novak, I suppose we only have ourselves to blame.

SO IN THIS AU OF RAINBOWS AND GLITTER, Jacob's the one who runs away to MIT, but Jimmy's the one with the powers. Jimmy's the one who drags Jacob back into the life. Jacob's the one who goes to the crossroads and gets raised from perdition by Cas, who is envesseling Dean, who only said yes to protect Sam, who is the Claire. IT GETS A LITTLE MORE TWISTY, but this is just a short introduction.

Weirdly, storyboarding this 'verse has given me a new appreciation for the Winchesters and OTPing Sam/Dean. I already like Sam/Dean to begin with, but now I think I understand better what it's like to be superduper OTP about them. I keep forgetting I also ship Jacob/Cas and Jimmy/Cas because OMG THE OVERWHELMING EMOCEAN OF JACOB/JIMMY. We spend the most time on their feelings for each rather than gen stuff like faith issues. IT'S AN UPSIDE DOWN WORLD.


Do you realize that the storyboarding means Croatverse Cas is the one with the thigh holster?

So then I got to wondering how the D/C works in this 'verse. It's essentially Jimmy/Cas, where the Jimmy is barely amenable to the Cas. I imagine it's a lot of Cas poking through Dean's head and Dean freaking out about it. GET OUT OF THERE, YOU HAVE NO RIGHT, he's like. Like night after night Cas comes to him to grind him down to vesselhood with celestial platitudes, subtle threats, and grand promises, and also a gentleness that Dean doesn't expect and isn't used to. The soft curls of grace across his skin and a voice that is not a voice telling him to say yes.
