boom de yada boom de yada boom de yada

[livejournal.com profile] isurrendered is having a three sentence ficathon! This meme continues to be the greatest thing on the internet, and the internet has Chuck and Castiel riding a dinosaur. To round off this paragraph of things that are the best, [livejournal.com profile] be_themoon wrote Will&Cassie fic for my fake show, and [livejournal.com profile] lazaefair wrote Ethan&Jake&Tracy fic for my other fake show. Yay!

Things I am not writing: 1) Will&Cass fic for my fake show, 2) an SPN casefic that starts out as an excuse to Folklore Sue a Filipino monster in, but is also a Dean/Castiel 5x04 episode tag apparently. And by 'not writing', I mean 'in the middle of writing'. Sigh. Mordred fic, will I ever finish you? And you, 'Will lives!' AU, where did my mojo for you go?

A meme from [livejournal.com profile] miakun: Comment and I'll give you three of your fandoms, then copy and paste the questions onto your journal and fill it out. I changed one question though.

Narnia, Merlin, Supernatural )

Also I have an internship. Life is magnificent, thanks. ETA: Panfandom Chinese New Year party!

'The Calling' - Cabin Fever - Alfred Bayer - 1200ish words

TV: The Office, Stupornatural, Being Human through... 2x04? )

Anyway, I wrote fic for Betsy's fake show. I told her it was going to be Alfred Bayer/Liam Collins, but it turned out to be just Alfred Bayer gen. Also it's in the past tense, which I haven't written in a while.

The Calling
Cabin Fever. Alfred Bayer, Liam Collins, James Andrews, Lethe. Rated PG.
"The first time Lt. Collins pulled James Andrews in for questioning, Fred knew two things."

There are a lot of post-apocalyptic scenarios.

[livejournal.com profile] erasureathon: Sign-ups close on February 13!

[livejournal.com profile] isurrendered: a community for the TV meme that ate your flist, because writing fic and meta for nonexistent shows is weirdly compelling. I've been commentficcing [livejournal.com profile] sgrio's fake show and will fic [livejournal.com profile] be_themoon's fake show, and down below I've made another fake show and who knows when the madness will stop. (LET'S HOPE IT DOESN'T.)

From Sgrio: "Sci-fi show about scientists trying to discover why almost 70% of humans have just... disappeared."

OH SHIT WHERE DID EVERYONE GO?! Is it aliens? Is it the end of the world? No one knows! Some smart people are trying to figure it out, but paranoid governments are trying to interfere and a secret organization is becoming not so secret. Who are the Consortium? What is the Prometheus project? Watch this nonexistent scifi action/drama to find out.

For the record, I ship everyone/everyone.

THE TV MEME THAT ATE YOUR FLIST
1. Comment to this post with "I surrender!" and I'll assign you the basis of some TV show idea. (Science fiction show, medical drama, criminal procedure, etc...)
2. Create a cast of characters, including the actors who'd play them
3. Add in any actor photos, character bios and show synopsis that you want.
4. Post to your own journal and [livejournal.com profile] isurrendered.

The soundtrack would probably have Sufjan Stevens on it.

This meme is hella fun.

[livejournal.com profile] be_themoon gave me: "Four siblings travel to and rule a magical kingdom a la Narnia using Earth mythology of your choice." I kind of cheated because they're not ruling anything (yet?), and I'm not explicitly using any one mythology. But it's an hour-long fantasy drama with dysfunctional families and magic and the end of the world.

i never wanna shame the blood in my veins

I reckon I should be organizing my data sets, but then I listened to Chimamanda Adichie talk about the dangers of a single story (via [livejournal.com profile] heather11483 and [livejournal.com profile] deepad) and my heart just swelled. I was originally going to flock this post because it has a lot of personal information in it, but then I realized that would be kind of defeating the point. So, here it is.

thoughts on my own stories: the ones I couldn't own, the ones I didn't want to own, the ones I had to fight for, the ones I still have to fight for )

So in the spirit of this, I'm gonna do new twist on an old meme. I want you to ask me something you think you should know about me. Something that should be obvious, but you have no idea about. Ask away. And I will answer in autobiographical narrative form.

Woah.

This started out as development consulting internship AU, but I wasn't even halfway through the first page when it was clear that none of these people were Merlin characters. So I changed their names! To Angie, Kate, and James. Um.

So. Angie starts her internship in Manila and reconnects with an old friend. My original fiction joints are way rusty, and for some reason, imagining my characters as OOC Merlin characters is... helping?

it can't be that toxic if you're supposed to put it on your skin )
