spn_summergen reveals are up! To my surprise and delight, I ended up writing for jaimeykay, who gave some really wonderful prompts. (Check them out in the free-for-all.) I would've been happy to write any number of them, but this one caught my eye in particular.

I was reading Rosencrantz & Guildenstern are Dead during the writing process, so even while I was editing, I couldn't help but parse Dean Smith and 2014!Cas's story through this lens. It's pretty much what Dean Smith and 2014!Cas are - accessories to someone else's plot, left to deal with the consequences of the story long after their cameos are over. ...In retrospect, that probably would've made a better summary than what I actually put down. OH WELL.

First order of business: Novakcest. callowyn posted about when Jimmy met Amelia, and glassyskies wrote Half the gravity, which is about the time Jacob and Jimmy got drunk together in high school. ALL THE HEARTS IN ALL MY THOUSAND EYES.

Now this next thing, I'm not sure whether I should crosspost it to deancastiel or gid_hanasheh, so... yeah, that's the kind of thing it is. It's a compilation of the bits and scraps of feeeliiings that the finale shook out of me. It's pre-Dean/Cas, I guess, or maybe it's straight-up Dean/Cas? But maybe feel free to put on your gen goggles and squint? Because whether it's romantic or not is beside the point? IDK, maybe I won't crosspost it anywhere because what the hell is this even.

Being that the finale is in 14 hours, I guess I should post this 6x20 coda already. Or maybe it's a 6x20 reprise? Either way, it was mainly caused by staring at these graphics until my heart threatened to crawl out my chest and die weeping on the floor.

I wrote this listening to Imogen Heap's "2-1" and its instrumental version on a loop. Then again, I think I did everything in the past couple of days listening to these songs on a loop. (Why yes, it is that vid's fault.)

There are two ways to summarize this fic. One is with Sherod Santos's translation of Sappho:

I've been wibbling back and forth about whether or not I should post this because omg this is not my usual fannish medium, and omg my voice on the internets, and omg if we only had more time, we could do better. But we didn't have more time, and we were trying our damndest to finish this before I had to leave the country, so, y'know. This is what we have.

Basically my boyfriend is building a home studio and he was like, "Do you wanna record any of your songs?" and I was like, "What about this one?" So he listened to me sing it and asked, "...Is this about Supernatural?" He's so smart, you guys.

So! This is my belated 5x22 reaction post. EXCUSE ME WHILE I SING ABOUT MY FEELINGS. Well, Dean's feelings. I can't stress how important my boyfriend was to making this recording happen. I may have written the song, but he was invaluable with his input and his mysterious superpower of getting his various machines to do what I want them to. That's him playing the guitar solo at the end.

He also said I can name our band whatever I want.
